Re: BLISS - I'm home!

At this point, I'll do whatever it takes to get my skin back to
normal. It's so dry and tight right now that even Origins Never Say
Dry isn't getting the job done...and that's a huge first for me!
If you guys think that Arbonne will get it done, then hey, send it on
Kris! I'll try anything at least once! *grin* (get yer minds outta
the gutter)

Hi Chris! Welcome to the group! This is a great group of ladies with a wealth of information! You'll really learn a lot here. ;) I've never ordered from the Bare Minerals site, but I hope your order comes quickly. Once it arrives if you need any help, just ask. Thanks, Lisa =)
Chris Strube <chrisstrube@...

Hi,

I just ordered my products on Sunday from trybareminerals.com. I saw the infomercial and gave in to the temptation. Can't wait to receive it and give it a try. I currently don't wear a foundation at all because I don't like the feel of anything on my skin. I ordered the whole kit too. Heck, I think there's a 60-day guarantee so what have I got to lose. Has anyone ordered from them? Does it really take 3-4 weeks to receive the product?

Chris ;-)

BLISS - I'm home!

2008-09-30 06:46:11

Hey Bliss! I had really flaky dry skin that got really oily when I wore makeup. Well Kris sent me samples of Arbonne's Bio-Matte set and it actually cleared up every bit of the dry skin. :) I liked it so much I bought full sizes! Arbonne is all natural so I was glad to sample it. Just thought I'd drop in my experience with it. Thanks, Lisa
Bliss

Welcome home!! Sounds like you had a great time.

You were asking about help with your dry skin. Arbonne has several products that are great for dry skin. Let me know if you would like some samples.

REBECCA - Finally got some BE (comparison to True Colors)

2008-09-30 02:13:34

Hi Rebecca! I'm so glad you finally tried BE and like it! ;) You got some really pretty colors! Have fun playing! Lisa =)
Rebecca Gear <becky.gear@...

Hi my BE finally came, I got True, Devotion, Princess and Intuition
for eye shadows and Compassion blush.
I wore it yesterday (with my silver cream MAC as the base), I can see
why everyone likes it so much. It is alot more subtle than the True
Colors, even the glimmer is not as sparkly as True Colors.
I wore Princess and Intuition yesterday and my eyes looked great. I
have been using the blush everyday since it came (I like it). Today I
am trying True, I tried foiling Devotion (but it was too light for my
tastes) so I ended up using a dark silver/grey from True Colors. I
also wetline with a black (either matte or the sparkly one from Black
Diamond).
My mom and I are going to share the ones I got (full sized so there is
plenty). Here is another big difference the amount of make up in the
True Colors is less than BE. When I transfer True Colors into a 5
gram jar it will sometimes fill it, most times not completely. I
almost filled a 5 gram for me and my mom will be getting the jars with
what is left and there is still quite a lot (to me).
As I get more funds I may have to try more BE (I spent too much this
month and my husband is a tad peeved). I also got samples from a gal
who makes mineral eyeshadow and sells them on ebay as well as
Colorevolution (a true color knockoff) and a full set of 34 colors
from a different mineral manufacturer on ebay. Coming home on Tuesday
was very exciting all sorts of packages. Now I am just waiting on
another couple sets of brushes (some for me, some for my mom).
My final analysis on True Colors versus BE. They both work great,
true colors is more glam (very sparkly on most colors, maybe more like
MAC on color without the additives) and it seems darker (when I
compare similar colors), but BE is more appropriate for work and looks
great (also seemed to blend a bit easier).
I now have over 200 5 gram jars full of color (I had to rearrange my
organizer to make it all fit). I have dark and light drawers for
Blue, Purple, Pink, Green and Brown. My silver, gold, bronze, yellow
and orange drawers are single drawers. I am looking at getting
sifters for my jars (for the looks of it and from the jars I have
gotten from various sources they all seem identical in size. So my
mom and I will probably both order the set if 100 and have enough to
put in most of the jars we use.
Sorry this was long, I can get chatty.

There's nothing in the world that a Coldstone Creamery Cake cannot
fix! I hope that you get over the crud soon, Vanessa. I came home
from DC feeling a little on the rundown side and wouldn't you know

Glad to hear that Liam is feeling much better now. I'm crossing my

Re: [naturallyflawless] (Rebecca)] Finally got some BE (comparison to True Colors)

2008-09-29 12:55:40

It is fairly transparent (pale purple color). I was wearing purple
that day and I like a really light color on my upper lid. Princess
made a very good upper lid color and I put intuition in the crease and
lower lid worked really well with it and looked good.
A bit more understated than I am used to with the True Colors, but I
really liked it. Not all of True Colors is glam, but alot of it is
very shimmery (the glimmer is not even as shimmery).
I was surprised on the quantity. I have about 18 stacks of 8 in the
True Colors and all of them are only 1 tsp (or less depending on the
weight of the pigment). I transfer all of my colors are in 5 gram
jars (they work really well for me as I have a two year old who likes
to "help" and knows how to unscrew a stack of colors).
I am very unmotivated at work today. I keep surfing ebay and looking
at auctions that I better not even think about bidding on as I will be
in big trouble with the hubby.

What do you think about Princess? I saw it at Sephora and it looked pretty transparent...

There is a lot in BE shadows for sure., I've traded 1/2 teaspoons out of my pots just so I don't have to worry about spilling them.....

What a fun mail day for you!

Thanks

(Sandy] Help please

2008-09-28 22:47:53

Look for a matte finish., I think Lisa might have a matte finishing powder that might help with the BE.....

I did't care for the shinies with BE and the MV made me itch and break out. But alas there is hope... and many mineral products out there to help...

Good luck Sandy

Thea [INLINE]

That's the hard part of BE. If I look at a picture of me my face always seems to be shiny and I have never had shiny skin before. I am more on the dry side. I thought it was the Clear Radiance, but i stopped using it and i am still shiny. I think it is just a by product of BE!!! The mineral veil just doesn't seem to stop the shinies!!!!

I don't know of anything in Des Moines that would carry any of the stuff we've been talking about here. Chicago, Minneapolis, or St. Louis seems to be it.

There is a new mall in Des Moines. Jordan Creek Mall...it's okay. I didn't think it was anything to write home about. I like the Coral Ridge Mall near Iowa City better.

Oh my, Cedar Rapids is not reeeeeeal far away. Do you ever get in to

This is completely off topic, but I sound so funny, about 2 days ago mu
voice started going and now it's almost completely gone. unfortunatly
with my job, I answer the phone all day long and have been forced to
spend all day today sounded absolutely ridiculous. Hopefully I feel
better by this weekend. Liam is spending Saturday night with Grandma
and Grandpa and my bf and I are going to another city for the day to fo
some shopping, etc. I'm not suprised Ive gotten sick though. My bf is
sick and last week Liam got sent home from daycare because he just
wasn't himself, had a fever, his nose was a faucet, and the poor little
man coughed so hard he threw up!
As long as we are all better next weeked! We have a big 2 year old
birthday party to throw complete with a coldstone birthday cake!

re: Hey Donna!

2008-09-27 13:44:11

Well, I did it. My girls are married. :-) They're registered at Lisa's website for wedding gifts! LOL

Seriously though, I did the magic lashes today despite my eye problem. It cleared up a bit so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Lining them up wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do. I imagine a person would become better at that with time. And, I can see how your's reached your eyebrows. :-) I held mine up toward my brows like the box said and as soon as I started I saw where that was going and let go!! I gave them just a bit of a lift.

I probably did it in the wrong order because I actually played with those to see if I could even get the lashes on before I did any other makeup. Then I thought what the heck once I had them on and went ahead and put on my makeup. I actually like that I did my eye shadow after having the fake lashes on because that helped hide the line. Then I married those puppies so it wouldn't look like I had two different colored row of lashes (mine are a lighter black/brown color than the fakes). They look pretty darn cool, look long and lush. Actually, my girls both have beautiful long and black lashes. It makes it look like they got them from me now! :-)

I sure wouldn't do this every day but for a special occassion or when I wanted to look extra nice I'd do it again.

I'm really looking forward to it too..
By then they should have a Sephora in, and I read they
already have an Archiever's there. I like stamping, so
to spend 3 days just going through the aisles with no
one pulling at my leg or snatching things off the
shelves will be a blast.:0)

I think I thought you were in Iowa because of all of the posting
awhile back in the Chicago trip discussion. It must have been someone
else. I asked because I am in Illinois. Hey, too cool, I do stamping
too. I make cards and use it for the borders on my parent letters.
Have a great time and get some good stamps.....after you get some
great make up!

I do my moisturizer first and let that soak in and then apply the minerals after that sets in a good 10 minutes or so.

The description says it gives a boost to your moisturizer. Do you apply that, your moisturizer, and then your makeup?

Rhonda
Jade <rebekahn@...

I like it! I normally use the present by philosophy but on really hot days, the rev-er upper is a lighter alternative. It smoothes your skin out for sure so the minerals apply better but it doesn't have the sticky power that the present has.

Donna,

LOL!! Oh, if you ever figure out a way to get your hubby to help with something like that I HAVE to know the secret! :-)

Do you use a magnifying mirror? With my eyesight getting worse I'm considering buying one. I figure it may help save it for a little while longer.

I thought I'd bite the bullet and try them today but I've got something wrong with one of my eyes. Not sure if I'm having an allergic reaction or sinus problem. I had this once before, much worse, but I can't remember why I figured that it happened, how long it lasted, or how I dealt with it. What good is having a memory if it doesn't work, huh?!!! :-)

Basically, the area just above the inner corner of my eye (just above the lid) is swollen. It is as if it is retaining water in just that one spot. It pushes my eyelid and makes it close more than normal. It looks weird too! Dang it, I hope it doesn't last long. I've gotten used to looking pretty and now I feel like the hunchback of Notre Dame!!

Rhonda
Donna Conner <angel91805@...

LOL! Eyebrows are good. The trauma is over...and I was complimented on them this week at work. Go figure! Other's realized I was a hairy beast too!

As for the lashes....good luck! After the eyebrow trauma this past weekend, I didn't try them "officially". Read that as: They were a little tacky out of the box...didn't use glue...got one on, crooked a few times...reaches up to my eyebrow (before plucking!). Then I realized a little problem. See, I am legally blind in my left eye (can read the BIG S on the eye chart). Sooo, I can't close my right eye to put the lashes on, cuz then I can't see what I'm doing! And hubby has already said there ain't no way in you-know-where that he is going to do it. And if I only halfway close my right eye...my hands are in the way holding the lashes and I still can't see. I'm not giving up hope yet, but it will be awhile before the glue is used, that's for sure!

Let me know how it goes! Muahahahahahahaha

Donna

Megan,

Just post a message to the group to Lisa's attention. She is great about getting back to you! I'm sure she'd be happy to help. :-)

As far as products I can't live without, I really like the foundation. I personally haven't had a problem with being shiny or anything with it. I typically use foundation, bisque (GREAT stuff for dark circles under your eyes or blemishes!!!!), blush, mineral veil, a bit of well rested under my eyes, and then I do my eye colors and I'm off. The other gals here suggested using Urban Decay's Primer Potion before putting eye colors on to make them last longer and I have found that to be true. I really like the stuff!

color! Other than the eye shadows are there any other items that you

Hey Donna! I got my Magic Lashes in the mail today. I put on my bifocals and read the back of the box and thought of you instantly when I got to the "marrying" part! LOL

Not sure if I'm going to be brave enough to tackle those tomorrow or not. Have you tried them yet? How are your eyebrows?! I bet they look awesome! I hope you recovered from the pain! :-)

Oh, I forgot to address the brushes. Personally, if you have a set I'd start with those. The BE brushes can add up really quickly. If you find you like the minerals then you can add brushes to your collection as you go. That's my two cents anyway. :-)

I ended up buying a kabuki brush off eBay (Lisa sells those too!) and then I bought a few brushes from Sally's Beauty Supply store locally. I didn't have any makeup brushes to start with. I'm starting to add BE brushes to my collection now. Also, if you order BE kits, many of them come with brushes too.

Re: [naturallyflawless] another few ?'s

2008-09-22 14:49:35

LOL...yeah, finding your color is the hard part. But after that everything is REALLY fun!! I would suggest asking Lisa. She can help you figure out what foundation color to try. As far as eye colors, I think it is hard to go wrong with almost any of them. I have a very fair complexion and thought so many of the colors just wouldn't look good on me. Then I had a makeunder at the Chicago BE boutique and they ended up using four colors on my eyes, three of which were from a color theme that I NEVER EVER would have thought I could wear. I think I was just stuck in a rut with what eye colors I wore...grays, blues, purples....BE opens up a whole new world of color!

Kris is another source of help when it comes to what color of foundation you might try. But Lisa helped me out wonderfully!

Just mixed in a separate container 1tsp of MV to 4 or
5 tsps of the Shimmering Finishing powder till I used
up my MV. Now I just use Lisa's.
The only itching I get now is from Well Rested, and
that's on/around my eyes, due to my lovely undereye

Jill,
Have you tried using a primer like Smashbox's Photo Finish? I found
that it really made the difference in not only my pore size, but in
how shiny I got later in the day.
Try the hair dryer trick. I saw that on another group. They said
the heat really helped it to "blend" well with your skin and made it
easier for it to be buffed completely.
Speaking of buffing: Is anyone elses's BE Kabuki brush pokey? I
find mine seems to be sticking me while I'm trying to buff with it.
So much that Im thinking of shelling out the bucks for one of Cat
Cosmetics kabuki's. I got her travel set of brushes, Open Sesameow,
and I love them! They are the softest brushes that I have ever
owned!

Bliss:

You asked for a dry skin suggestion...

What is your skin care regime? It is very important that you exfoliate your skin so your moisturizer really soaks in - otherwise it tends to simply sit on the surface of your face doing nothing really. If you have any dry flaky patches, the exfoliator would do the trick. I know of some hydrating skin care products less expensive than origins if you're interested in saving some money. I would recommend the vitamin E line or the grapeseed line. Also, there is a vitamin E or Vitamin C (smells like oranges! Yum) facial mist that you should carry in your purse for airplane trips - it works wonders. If interested to know more, email me: gjnellis@... or check out www.thebodyshop.com/athome/jillnellis

Jill

PS I have used the BE skin rev-er upper. It is ok. It's supposed to be used as a primer for your minerals (after moisturizing step). I don't know that I've noticed much difference. I once got a sample and a catalog of DHC skin care Velvet Skin Coat (also a primer) and I loved it! It's 20 bucks though, but it seems to even out the fine lines and fill in creases prior to buffing on your minerals...just a thought. I'm trying to find it on ebay cheaper, but no luck so far.

Help please

2008-09-19 13:26:51

Ok guys, I've been wearing BE now for probably a year and a half. I must be getting lazy because lately I look shiny. I probably apply my minerals too fast and in essence apply way too much. Any tips to help me stay away from "over-using"? Gosh, sounds like a drug addiction, eh?

I cleanse, tone, moisturize and then let it soak in before I begin. But, by mid-morning I'm shiny already. I'm now using the Bismuth Free finishing powder and I really like it, but the shine keeps coming back. It is possible to even look "matte" with BE or will I always look slightly "dewy" regardless. How many times a day do you have to apply finishing powder? Is there a more "matte" mineral out there? I don't really want to switch brands, but I'm so tired of the "too dewy" look.

Any help is appreciated.

more than an hour in years, so I was so not prepared for the ensuing
attack of ultra-dry skin.
I'm hoping to get back to my "youthful" dewy complexion asap! I
don't care what it costs! *grin* Although I should considering how
much I spent at Passional buying that darned corset! I totally
understand why friends of mine have gone the extra bit and spent the
money for really good quality lingerie and corsets now! I paired it
with a long leather skirt and a cute little handbag and I was the
straight belle of the gay ball the other night!
I'm thinking of buying Halo at Origins to use when I'm not wearing
BE. I like that little extra glow things like that give my skin.
But I'm wondering if it's not essentially the same thing as Revlon's
Skin Illuminations. Hmmm...anybody tried these?

I wish i had my before and after pictures up. I have numerous red spots

after picture. And this was wearing the wrong color foundation! Of
course now that I have the right color, it looks even better! I must
admit though, I the world's oilest (yea can't spell) nose and still use
conventional powder on my nose. But, it doesn't make that big of a deal
to me. I just believe that BE offers such an array of options that most
makeup companies don't. Even if you don't use the foundation, I think
you could still have fun exploring the glimmers, shadows, liners,
glimpses and all that other fun stuff!

new and have questions

2008-09-17 08:17:15

I am thinking of purchasing bare minerals, but I have so many
questions. I have sensitive/problem/oily/freckled skin. I normally
wear a foundation and a powder, and yet still wish i had a bit more
coverage. Will bare minerals really provide the full coverage i
desire? My skin has redish/pink tones will bare minerals being just a
powder even my skin tone? I have gone through so many kinds of make up
and right now i am using MAC and am not 100% happy with it. I am
lookig for something new. I was thinking of going back to using Mary
Kay, because i did like that. I am just at the point where i want
something different and before i spend even more money i am just
wondering if bare minerals really will give full coverage and is it
worth all the money. PLEASE HELP!!!

Re: [naturallyflawless] new and have questions

2008-09-17 04:36:08

I can answer your coverage question...YES! :-) I was truly amazed at how good the coverage is.

I would consider myself someone who likes to have medium to heavy coverage. BE is great. Put one layer on and wait a few minutes. If you aren't satisfied with that being enough then put on a second layer. Even with two applications it feels as if you have nothing on!! Really! I've only been using BE for about a month and I started by winning one of Lisa's auctions. From there it was on to her website and the rest is history!

I discovered when I first started wearing it I was too tentative when applying the foundation. I was needing to put on two applications. However, after I had a makeunder at the BE boutique I realized I didn't have to be quite so scared. Now I only need to apply one layer but it I am more thorough at it than I was before.

The best advice I can give is to visit Lisa's website and try some samples. That way you get to see whether or not you like a color before you spend the money on a full container. And, the full containers will last forever! As far as eBay, Lisa is the best. Her samples are usually twice the size of other sellers and she ships super fast.

My other bit of advice is to be strong if you hang around with this crowd! You'll end up wanting a little bit of everything from BE, to candles, to who knows what! :-)

Have fun!

Rhonda

Hi Lisa,
I wore makeup, but I never spent more than 10 minutes

Now,in the morning, it's like a major construction

Sure, it is www.medi-spastore.com. I had never ordered from there before and learned afterwards that I could have made it easier on myself. So, for those of you who haven't ordered from the site....

There are warnings on each BE item saying they have to be purchased over the phone. But, you can put the items in a cart called a "phone list." Be sure to put the wonderful discount code Mich shared!!! Then, instead of printing that page out to call your order in off of, go ahead and do the next two steps. It looks like you're going to be charging it online so I stopped because of the warnings about having to order via phone. Anyway, somewhere along the line there is a memo box you can put your credit card information in. If you do that you don't have to call (interesting way to get around the no internet sales). If you want to call instead you can give them an order number that comes up on the third step.

If you just print out the first page (like I did) then you'll get on the phone and have to go through the whole procedure all over again. If you go through all three steps and get the order number, then you just give the person on the phone your order number and you're good to go. :-)

Have fun shopping!

Hey Mich! Thanks for the reviews on the MAC pigments, aren't they fun!! LMBO at the "officially high maintenance" comment. That's exactly how I was! Before minerals I hardly ever wore makeup and now I wear it almost every single day! I *love* it though! It's so fun to play with all the beautiful colors and I feel so much better going out all made up. ;) Lisa
Mich <bbabmontret@...

Hey guys,
I haven't heard much about the MAC colors yet, and I'm
always falling back on all your reviews, so I thought
I'd add mine just in case someone was wondering...
I tried Rose, Pink Opal and Violet.
They're REALLY pretty.
I used the Rose as shadow and lipgloss and really
liked it.
The Violet I used as a liner (sometime I'd like to try
it with "sealant" like She Laq or something along that
line). The glitter can fall on your face, but I
thought I looked kinda cool. :0)
Pink Opal's really deceiving. It doesn't look like
much sitting in the container, but when I foiled it it
was very pale with reflecting pink. VERY pretty.
I liked makeup before.. but ever since that first
sample I bought from Lisa on Ebay I've turned into a
real "girly girl".
I'm officially High Maintenance. LOL.
Anyway, that was my .02 errr $.04 cents.

re: eyes are a going

2008-09-12 19:52:04

Hey, I have a silly question. As I'm getting older my eyes seem to be going downhill fast. I can see without my glasses but I rarely attempt to try reading without them anymore. My eyes must have been extra tired this morning because I was having trouble focusing. It made me wonder, how do people who can't see without their glasses put on their eye makeup?

Silly, I know, but I think I'm heading in that direction sooner rather than later. :-(

I have to say I love this stuff!! For me it isn't too sparkly. I just added a bit under my eyes and around the outside corner and it really lightened my face up so much. Not gaddy or anything. It really gave me the boost I had been hoping to get with well rested.

re: medi-spa

2008-09-12 01:10:21

I had never ordered from Medi-Spa before until today. I spent about 10 minutes trying to figure out if I should place the order today and risk having it delivered on Saturday (2-3 day deliver) when hubby is home, or wait until Friday to place the order to guarantee my secret would be safe. :-) I went aheand and ordered today (he's watching the NFL draft all day Saturday) and learned there is also a 4 day processing allowance. Now I'm concerned it may come NEXT Saturday!! (fingers crossed)

Great price though with the discount and free shipping!

Re: (Mich] MAC colors

Something that you might want to try is Too Faced's Liquif-Eye. It
will make any powder, pressed or loose, eye shadow into a liquid
liner. Someone compared it to Paula Dorf's Transformer. They've got
it at Beauty First and I think I'm gonna go get me some and give it a
go.
I need to get one of those MAC samplers myself. I guess that's next
on my list. I've already told my friend Jen that I would help her get
a sampler set of BE since she fell in love with mine last weekend.
You have no idea how hard it was to get home with all of my makeup!

Welcome to the Official Girly-Girl Club, Mich! I've been a Girly-Girl
for years and wouldn't have it any other way! My hubby still doesn't
understand the need for several different face creams or a drawer full
of eye shadow, but he certainly appreciates the results!
I think we need to come up with certificates that we can frame and
hang in our vanity areas at home. I know that I would certainly hang
one up!

Re: Rhonda.. Gift Ideas

2008-09-11 14:57:11

That's a really good idea.
I'm going to remember that one.
I just sent my hubby a cut and paste QVC list of gift
possibilities for Mother's Day or Anniversary. :0)
Yes, complete with photos so there's no mix ups. lol
They were all Philosophy. The State of Grace solid
perfumes, State of Grace sprays, and the Amazing Grace
3pc. set.
Who knows if we're exchanging gifts this year, but
just in case he'll have some ideas. :0)

Thanks for the info on Mineral Basics.. oh there's
just so much fun stuff out there to try.. :0)
That's great that it worked on your rosacea. Does it
work well to cover under your eyes as well?
I'm with ya on the racoon eyes.. I've never been able
to use the liners dry without looking like I lost a
round to Mike Tyson. Lol.
Well, I'd best get some work done around here!
Thanks again for the info!

Mich,
I bought the transformer, but I ended up returning it.
It tried it in the store and it was really good but I couldn't justify the purchase with having to pay taxes, my car payment, and my credit card in the same week.
I would buy it again though.
I haven't tried the other product you mentioned.

I had a question for you.
I was wondering if you'd tried both of these before.
I think I remember you mentioning that you liked Paul

I was wondering if you'd also tried Benefit's She-Laq.
If so, which one do you think is better?

Good Morning, Thea.
I'm not sure if they're all created that way now, but
I like wearing them foiled because they seem to last
longer on me.:0)
Sometimes I think my skin just absorbs certain
colors, greens especially, so foiling holds the color
longer.
I really like the verstility of BE and Lisa's too..I
like being able to control the color intensity.

Hey guys,
I haven't heard much about the MAC colors yet, and I'm
always falling back on all your reviews, so I thought

So count it as a Mental Health Day for you and your daughter. I've
done that with Rhiannon. If she's been home not feeling well, I might
take her to go get something yummy but gentle for her tummy or
throat. And we may make a pit stop at Barnes & Noble and pick us up
each a new book.
Sometimes you just need a break in your routine to make you feel
really good. I know that just walking into a fun place like Sephora
or eventhe MAC department at Dillards is sometimes enough to lift my
spirits and make me feel better.

Hey Gail! Heavenly is Victoria's Secret fragrance. The description on their site is "soft, creamy, smooth fragrance blended with white peony and white musk". It's perfume scent, instead of a 'foodie' scent. ;) I can recommend a foodie scent for ya though. Have you tried Vanilla Bean Noel? It's a Bath and Body Works dupe of a seasonal scent they carry at Christmas time. I *love* it! It smells like a mixture of sugar cookies, icing, vanilla and caramel. It smells so yummy!!! So that's my rec! Thanks, Lisa =)

Good Sunday morning to you all. Oooops, Sunday afternoon! Ok I just bit
the big one and ordered some more little pots from Lisa. After reading
all of your posts on how certain colors "pop" I couldn't resist!! Of
course I also ordered mint chip! There has been waaaaay tooo much talk
to not order that one.
DH and I have just returned from a 2 week cruise where I tried out all
of the other new colors that I just ordered from Lisa. Lots and lots of
compliments from folks I have never even met before!! BE is quite an
experience for us girls.
Have any of you heard of "Sun Glow"? It comes in a pot and is a mineral
that you can use for eyes, cheeks and lips. They were showing it on the
boat and of course I had to spend some money, oh, excuse me, shop!
Have a great day! Celia

Oh my gosh, LMBO!! It sounds like you had a great girl's day out though. ;) I hope Amanda is feeling better and hubby wasn't too mad. Lisa =)
My daughter got up yesterday and didn't feel good at all, stomach problems, etc. So I let her stay home from school. About noon I get to thinking that there is another Sephora store around here, but at a mall I have never been to and don't even know where it is. But...I decide to call there anyway to see if they carry BE. Of courser they carry the entire line. Now is where it gets tough. Do I go somewhere appx an hour away, that I have never been before, with my sick daughter, just to get some BE? Well....of course I do! (Although my daughter did say she was okay to go) So we get there, was about 45 minute drive and we both get makeovers. Turns out I am a 1.0 instead of a 2.0. Both of our makeovers looked very nice. Of course I had to buy some BE. I ended up spending $205 there. I bought the 1.0 foundation, Beauty blush, Cranberry something lipstick, 6 eyeshadows, and an acne kit for my daughter. I was gonna get the eyebrow kit but they didn't have my color so I came home
and ordered it from QVC. Of course my husband got home early that day, in time to see us both come home with full makeup on (my daughter has never worn makeup in her life before this) and it was sure hard to explain to him where we were. Especially since Amanda was supposed to be home sick. We sure had fun tho. Janis

Yes i am and have been on probably about a dozen or so. And i'm in one with you although i can't recall the name of it at the moment.

I figured you were but I am not sure which one either :)

I noticed the other day that I am in like 50+ groups. That is way too many.Alot of them are just special messages only or no mail.

In the old days people were really nice about sharing recipes, but now so many have started businesses they want to pick your brain, but not share their knowledge or recipes. So.I don't post much anymore and barely have time to read a lot of them.

I know what you mean.I gave my first soap formula that I ever created by MYSELF to a friend here. She said she wasn't going to sell the soap or anything but ended up doing so.It kinda hurt my feelings a tad but I got over it..lol...

She now does her own research but still asks me for my formulas...lol.....sometimes we *share* our formulas!

I don't mind a bit helping anyone either.I am so glad that you still are willing to help the newbies out.

I have noticed that the internet is so saturated with handmade toiletries/soap websites now.I haven't gotten the chance to put one up yet,I am wondering if I should now.

Have a great day!

I just bought a full size True off eBay and I'm wondering, should this have plastic on the outside of the jar as well as the white thing covering the shaker holes?

The reason I ask is that it appears to not be full even though it has a white thing covering the shaker holes and it was advertised as factory sealed.

Thanks.

Man, I am not going to be able to spend any money on QVC. I talked my husband into letting me go back to the Chicago BE boutique for the makeunder with a national makeup artist on May 1. I am so excited. The thing costs $25 and then you get a $25 gift certificate to use on products! It'll be interesting to see if a national makeup artist selects the same foundation color for me that the local makeup artist did.

I originally thought about spending the night there by myself....wow, no kids, no husband, no pets....*sigh*...almost most too much quiet! :-) So, I opted instead to come back the same day so I'd have more money to spend on products!! LOL Hubby just dropped his head when I explained my rational.

I'm not sure I'm going for colors this time...of course, I'm the one who fell off the wagon almost immediately!! I want some of the Liquid Loofah and the lavendar body wash and body balm. I'm thinking about the double-ended percision brush too. I just haven't been able to convince myself to pay $28 for one brush.

It wasn't really the number of things that I bought, but how much I
spent! The event I went to was a Leather contest that a friend of
mine was in. She didn't win, but she is the first runner up for
American Leather Girl.
There was an incredible vendor there who had beautiful corsets. I
splurged and bought a red and black silk/satin Chinese brocade
corset and a tulle bustle skirt. I wore it to the banquet that
night. Between the outfit, my hair and all of my yummy new makeup,
I felt as if I were quite the fox that night. Okay, what really
made me feel pretty were all of the compliments that I got. It was
a blast being the token straight girl at a mostly gay gathering! My
waist hasn't been that
