Bliss,

Welcome back. You were missed! So, what colors did you buy?

And, what is the blue bag in the infomercial? I apparently haven't seen it. Is it the same one on the QVC catalog...Dream of BE Colors? Those look really pretty!

Rhonda

I'm home!

2008-08-31 15:37:47

Wow! What a trip! I so missed being able to spend a huge amount of
time in here.
Lisa, Henry had a blondage and your package was still sitting on his
desk downstairs. Oy! Ask a man to do something simple for
you...sigh...I'll get in the post today.
In the meantime, I had a wonderful package from Lisa waiting for
me! More pretties than you can shake a stick at!
I bought three colours from the BE shop in Atlanta and one of the
cute little infomercial blue bags. I just couldn't help it.
Hello, my name is Bliss and not only am a I a cosmetics junkie, but
I'm a hopeless makeup bag addict. I cannot pass up the cosmetics
department of any store/salon/boutique.
I missed you all so much!!! It's so good to be home! I swear, I
felt like clicking my heels and saying, "There's no place like
home. There's no place like home. There's no place like home." Of
course, the fact that I live in Kansas would have made that really
ironic if it had worked!

*does a happy dance*

I got my order from Lisa. Pretty soon I'm going to have to start bribing my 12 year old daughter so she won't tell my hubby how many packages I am getting in the mail. LOL Two today, one from Lisa and the other from eBay. I think it is Christmas in April!! :-)

I'd better calm down or my mailman will think I have the hots for him if I keep watching for him so much. :-)

Re: duh

Silly me, I forgot to mention what I got from Lisa and what I love. I got Socialite, Here Kitty (for my daughter), Dragonfly and Green Tea. I LOVE Dragonfly...I think I like it foiled best. Socialite is very nice too. I have to play some more with Green Tea though.

Any suggestions of things to pair with Dragonfly? That is the only blue I have right now.

Re: Ordered more!

2008-08-28 03:56:47

Good Sunday morning to you all. Oooops, Sunday afternoon! Ok I just bit
the big one and ordered some more little pots from Lisa. After reading
all of your posts on how certain colors "pop" I couldn't resist!! Of
course I also ordered mint chip! There has been waaaaay tooo much talk
to not order that one.
DH and I have just returned from a 2 week cruise where I tried out all
of the other new colors that I just ordered from Lisa. Lots and lots of
compliments from folks I have never even met before!! BE is quite an
experience for us girls.
Have any of you heard of "Sun Glow"? It comes in a pot and is a mineral
that you can use for eyes, cheeks and lips. They were showing it on the
boat and of course I had to spend some money, oh, excuse me, shop!
Have a great day! Celia

LOL...Yeah, but you have to remember I'm a organization junkie so there were other lists that appealed to me to. :-)

However, I did got to a freeware site but didn't have much time to look. I'm going to do that again today. I do have Documents To Go on my pda and I'm thinking that I could probably cut and paste the spreadsheet into Word and save it as a Word document. Then I could transfer it that way.

Just another fun little organization project I can add to my list of things to do when I'm bored.

:-) I just have to do it before the trip to Chicago in August!

Thanks again! If you ahve any more pda tips please pass them on to me.

hmmm... $50? it went up. I'm an original user... don't think i paid that much..sorry. Lets see... $50 worth of minerals? or a program to keep track of them??? It would be cheaper to make a list in the memos.

another idea would be to create a list in the phonebook called bare minerals and the name field cld hold the name of the mineral, and you could indicate if you have a sample, full size, etc... last name could hold the type "glimpse", "glimmer" etc...

OR... maybe there is a free program out there that will let you database??

ok, Rhonda, what else do we have in common?? ;0

have fun.

re: Woodfield Mall coupons

2008-08-25 21:41:36

Hey, Mich, this is a great site. So glad you found it!

Anybody who is going should go to the "out of town visitors" link. On that page there is a area called headlines, the very first link under there is a certificate you can fill out if you're traveling 50 miles or more to come to the mall. It appears that each one of us can print it out and present it to customer service to get a special booklet of discounts, coupons, etc. :-)

More savings, the more I can spend on BE. :-)

Rhonda

re: Chicago BE

2008-08-25 13:56:52

Dang it, the boutique is even still hiring! Can you imagine how fun that would be??!!!

If you go to the store directory (it is interactive), BE is on level 3. If you put your cursor over the cluster of stores closest to the entrance in the middle, BE is just to the right. Sephora's is across the aisle to the left a bit.

I tried sending a page to the group on a hotel but I'm not sure if it will go through or not. Just in case, I'm going to list the link here. I found a hotel on Expedia.com for $68 a night per room. I entered two rooms from Friday night to Sunday morning and said we'd have four people in each room.

If you guys like this one let me know and I can go ahead and make the reservation. The thing I like about Expedia is that you can make the reservation now but if something happens you can still cancel it closer to the date. With Priceline you may get a better price but you don't know which hotel you're agreeing to stay at and it can't be cancelled.

Has anyone ever stayed at a La Qunita Inn before? I have not. But, on the left side of the screen you'll see lots of links to a map, amenities, travelers reviews of the place, etc. It is only 1/2 mile from Woodfield Mall.

Quick Trip Update

2008-08-19 19:47:01

I got a minute to get online and wanted to pop in and tell you all
hi! DC is incredible right now! Fashion Centre at Pentagon City is
certainly a sight to behold! Four levels of shopping goodness. I
loved the Sephora and was so tempted to buy one of their big train
cases. I went and worshipped at the temple of MAC. I bought some of
their pro longwear lip in Unchanged, the blush duo in Plum, a Spice
lipliner and a pack of their blotting papers. I'm temted to go and
buy their lovely leather makeup case but I'm running out of room in my
suitcases!
Macy's was having an incredible clearance sale and I had to buy my
little girl some of the cutest Mudd scooter skirts.
I really should get offline and back out to see some more of this
beautiful city before I have to come home on Monday. I miss you all!

Chicago trip . . .

2008-08-16 12:03:42

Hey Claudia! Here's my 2 cents LOL . . .

I was thinking we could all meet in Chicago Friday evening sometime. Stay in a hotel that night. The Boutique event is from 12-3pm. We probable need to be a little early, so I know I don't want to have to start driving from Cincy at 6am and then go right to the event. (Plus I was thinking with you coming from NY and Janis coming from MI, you all would have to leave at who knows what time to get them by 11am.) Then I thought we needed "girl time" after we all get makeovers, so I thought it'd be fun to stay Saturday night so we could hang out, go out to eat, have a make-up party LOL, whatever. Then we could leave bright and early Sunday morning. =)

Rhonda found some hotel prices around $60 or so. It looks like we have roughly 6-7 of us going, so it'd be roughly $15 a night per person. Not bad. I just created a poll for everyone to vote on what days they wanna go. ;)
Claudia Strickland <pkranger2@...

Just putting in my two cents. I can go on a Friday but
i have to be back by Monday Early morning. Work pays
my BE addiction. Thanks Claudia

This is the prettiest color. I got home about an hour ago, and I found my package from Lisa. This color is so pretty that I couldn't wait until tomorrow to try it. The way the green reflects on top of the brown makes it look sort of irridescent. I have been trying to find a green that I think looks good on me, and I just can't make them work, that is until I got this color. I paired it with the colors from the blendables kit and it looks oh so pretty. You guys have got to try this color. Thanks, Lisa.

Hey Gail! I just wanted to tell you Dina (Bissy's Boutique) is WONDERFUL! Thank you so much for recommending her! I placed my first order a week or so ago and got it in about 5-6 days. I got some Pink Sugar, Passionate Kisses, and a few other goodies including some tarts. I only spent around $25 or so and she sent me a free bag of goodies! Everything was in it's own little cellophane bag and looked so neat and pretty! I was very impressed with how professional her products looked. Needless to say after being so happy with my first order, I placed a second order for one of everything in my *favorite* scent, VS Heavenly. They should be here tomorrow. YIPPEE! Anyways just wanted to let you know how my experience with her went. She has great products! The best thing about it is how affordable everything is! Gotta love that! ;) Thanks, Lisa

SOmebody had the nerve to outbid me! I went ahead and changed my bid. I'm not good at losing. :-) That's a bad combination with eBay!!!! LOL

They're up here in a bit. But we've got plans (very unusual) so I will have to check again later. I put some BE on my youngest daughter...mind you, the one who "doesn't like makeup." I did some eye shadow, some blush, liner, and some lip gloss with the same shade as the eye shadow on her lids (Joy). Then, I put some Creamsickle flavored body dust on her to make her shimmer a bit. Then I put a small amount on her hand and told her to taste it. LMBO!! Let me tell you, she looked at me like I was W-E-I-R-D!! But then she says, "Wow, that tastes good. Can I have some more!!"

She actually looks like a girl. Now if I can just get enough people to comment on that fact so she will want to do it more often!

Rhonda
Donna Conner <angel91805@...

Sooo...did you get them??? I remember 1-2-3 calls like that! Hahahaha. I can see trying to explain that call to hubby.....I'm sure he would look at me and ask.."What? Are you like in High School again???" ROFL!

Donna,

Dang it, now I'm going to have to decide if I want to buy these eyelashes or not. They're only selling for $2 right now, $1.50 S&H. How can I complain. I've spent much more on crap. :-)

I have pink tweezers too! They've never disappeared on me. LOL

And, the pathetic part is that I need to be putting this "mad money" back into our account for all the money I've spent this month on BE stuff.

Maybe with the eyelashes we can do the 1-2-3 go thing. We can call each other and do it at the same time. LMBO!! Wouldn't that be a pretty sight?! My daughter would think I was nuts if I tried to explain that type of phone call to her.

I did try blue mascara today. I was disappointed. I can't really tell anything. It is "cobalt." I expected to have a dramatically noticeable different but it isn't.

OT:broke over and got the red toile quilt on QVC....

2008-08-06 01:37:25

but OMGosh,it is soooooooooo pretty!!

I have been looking at this quilt for a couple of months now.

I am glad that I waited because I saved a few bucks (save your tax day) AND it was 5 easy pays!!

DH is gonna kill me.

I did waitlist 2 shams too.Goodness, they were almost as expensive as the quilt itself, that stinks but I am so happy with this quilt!

I have been planning on redoing my bedroom in red toile for months now, just waiting on that perfect quilt to match some fabric to for the curtains and stuff.

re: fake eyelashes

Has anybody tried the BE magic lashes? If so, what did ya think?

I have never tried fake eyelashes before. I recall Donna, I believe, mentioning having them. Only because I remember our marrying and unmarrying conversation. :-)

There's a set on eBay that I'm thinking of buying. Yeah, I'm on the wagon but this traveler found some money we having coming back to us for some insurance stuff. I know, I know, how pathetic am I?!!!

I say give it a go - the worst that can happen is that you'll have to blend it out with some bisque or well rested! =0)
Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

Jade,

Thanks for the information. I love the colors but that is A LOT of change for me. :-)

So, basically you use Promise strictly as a liner, right? The Silly is a bit lighter looking on the computer so I thought I might try that as the lid or crease color. What do ya think?

Rhonda
Jade <rebekahn@...

I LOVE Promise. I find I can't wear it with very much color. I have a lot of clothes in the turquoise family too for spring. I do a thin line of it on top and bottom and then do something neutral for the lids, like Grace. If you try it let me know how you like it and I'll pick up some Silly! =0)

I'd like some opinions here.

Background: Fair skin (BE 1.0 foundation), brownish red hair.

I have several clothes that are the popular aqua/turquoise color right now. I look good in this color with my clothes. But, I'm wondering how I might look with the BF colors Promise and SIlly. Do you think these would look bad on fair skin? Too much with a shirt of a similar color?

I have never worn an eye shadow even close to these colors. For years I had Clinique shadows in green, purple, blue, and gray. That was my ENTIRE color palette until BE. :-)

Thanks in advance!

Rhonda

"Thea B." <thearb@...

I'm kinda laughing at myself this morning., finding brushes to fit into my travel mineral bag.... it is a 3 sectioned case that holds brushes at one end.... foundation in the center and shadows on the side., Blush is in one of those refillables so that helps... This puppy is going in my purse and not in my luggage....

Point made they can lose my luggage on the way to Vegas but not my minerals... I'm sure most here would feel the same way too... like yea.... duh!...

Have a great day everyone
