Rhonda..Concealer

2008-03-31 19:50:19

I use both.
First, I put on my primer, right now I'm using
L'oreal's Transformance (I think it's the same size
but only $15).
Then I use a little of Mary Kay's concealing corrector
(got it off Ebay) and then I put a little Bisque and
Well Rested on.(these I put on dry, with a flocked
sponge)
I put the Snow/WR/Moonstruck mix in the corners where
your eye meets your nose (I have real dark veins
there) and then just under the retina .
I put that mix on my blemishes as well, blending well.
I like to foil it so it lasts longer, but it's REALLY
light so you have to be sure to blend it well.
Otherwise it looks like you used White-Out as
concealer. LOL.

Hi Rhonda,
Thanks for the phone number!
I think I might try to call the QVC closer to when we
go. I'd like to find out if they do sell BE..the girls
here have mentioned that Q has better deals than the
stores. I have such a huge "wish list" that I'll be
looking for as many discounts as I can get! Lol
Thanks for the tip about the hotel. I was wondering
what to do about that. :0) I'd hate to spend tons of $
when we're not going to be there that much. Someone
had mentioned that a lot of the hotels have shuttle
services there too? Goodness knows I have a hard
enough time remembering where I parked at our local
mall.. I'm sure I'd goof up there!! :0)
Thanks for all the info.

so you use this mixture on your under eye circles instead of bisque?

rhonda
Mich <bbabmontret@...

Lisa,
I forgot to add..
I tried one of your "concoctions" and really liked it.
I adjusted a couple things and it really works for my
complexion and dark circles now.
I didn't measure, just eye-balled mixing Well Rested
with Snow and Moonstruck. Moonstruck was actually a
mistake but I couldn't bring myself to toss it and now
I really like it. :0) (I went a little heavier on the
Snow then the rest.)
I put it in the inner corners of my eyes (foiled), as
well as under the retina area where it's the darkest.
I usually use a mix of Gossamer and Well Rested
(foiled) in the inner corner of my lid and then
whatever shadows I decide on that day.. it all
brightens my eye incredibly.
Thanks for the tip!

donna,

when i first moved to iowa my oldest daughter was 1 1/2 yrs old. we lived close to the illinois border at that time and i heard there was a zoo about 20 minutes away. i was so excited. i packed her and the stroller up and grabbed my directions. we get there and walking the ENTIRE zoo was about 1 mile. they had a turkey on display at the zoo. that's when i knew i was in trouble. :-)

ROFL! I feel the same about El Paso. I grew up in Tampa, FL...about 45 minutes from Disney World...then there was Busch Gardens, the beaches, the planetarium, aquariums, zoos, etc. Now El Paso/Las Cruces, NM, does get concerts. The amusement park here is a joke. The county fair is all livestock, no exhibits or rides, the zoo here is a joke too. Ah well, this is where hubby's business is, and he is from here, so here we stay.

mich,

i don't know if the mall of america qvc sells be or not. i have been there but the last time was about two years ago. there is suppose to be a be store at the mall of america though. now i'm frustrated thinking it may have been there when i was there and i just didn't know about it then. :-(

i just checked the mall of america website and there is a be store there. the location is n294, (952) 854-8554.

if you want to save money on a hotel i can highly recommend doing priceline. i regularly would get a room at a really nice extended stay place two exits from the mall for $35 a night. that's when we lived closer than we do now and i'd make this trip annually as mom's weekend away for sanity. lol

if you're interested in trying priceline, you'd need to selected the richfield area when it asks where you'd be willing to stay. i think i also selected bloomington once and ended up at an okay place one exit from the mall for the same price.

man, i wish i could just take off and go right now. *sigh* dang gas prices just don't mix well with my minivan and a long trip.

Oh my... I got some real goodies this time.
I'd originally bought a lot of these for a friend, but
some I just had to keep.
The Crushed Velvet Blush was too pretty.. kept that
one.
Then I saw Here Kitty, Angel Dust, and Precious.. oh
yeah, those went into my makeup bag as well.
Fortunately I had quite a few colors I had bought
before, never opened, but knew once I saw them that
they wouldn't work for me. So, I did some Spring
cleaning and swapping =0) lol.
The Kitschmas and Rose Mac colors are BEAUTIFUL and
Victoria was right about Shantung. I love it.
I'm trying some of them out now.. I'll be the best

Thanks for the awesome shipping.. you sent it Sat. and
I got it yesterday. Incredible.
Hope you're feeling better!

yeah, iowa is up there, especially if you're in texas. :-) there is nothing in iowa...the whole state is just kind of there...sitting in the middle of the country with nothing. we have zero pro sports teams, concerts never come here, we have no zoos, the only amusement park in the state is a joke, there are no great stores (just the ones that are in basically every mall in the country), we have two airports (the one closest to me is so small that it only has about 10 gates total and if you haven't caught an outgoing flight by 6 or 7 pm you're stuck until the next morning. you have to keep in mind i grew up near cincinnati so i had the cincinnati zoo, king's island amusement park, the cincinnati reds and the bengals, and nobody who is anybody does a concert tour without stopping in cincinnati. moving here was a RUDE awakening and then i met my husband so i had to stay.

thanks to you all for the emails regarding my daughter's accident. she is doing okay. i tried telling her that her neck and back would probably start hurting today but she didn't realize how right i was...i am afterall mom so what the heck do i know. :-)

she has lots and lots of marks on her left forearm where she either has or had glass pieces that went into her arm. i am really concerned that she is going to end up with bad permanent scars from this. she is biracial and for some reason african american skin really doesn't do as well with scars as white people. i haven't mentioned this to her yet...no reason to buy trouble!

at Ken & Vernon's Country Catfish outside on near Lake Conroe. They
had incredible hushpuppies and awesome green tomato relish. Makes my

I guess if I did that, then we could stop in Midland, hug my gran and

lisa, i live in new mexico and there are all kinds of home remedies.. this is a wierd one but i swear it wks..

get a sheet of papper.. roll it up like a cone..small on one side like the size of a pencil.. put small end in your ear canal.. gently just barely in.. (this is the kinda scarry part)then you light the other end of cone with a match or lighter (make sure you just didnt hair spray your hair) and let it burn as close to the ear as you can... the closer the better..be near a sink of water so when it gets close enough for you, you can throw the paper in the water.. i am chicken to go to close.. during the burning you will hear popping noises. this is the heat drawing out air from the canal.. omg within minutes it is relief.. when my hubby first had me do this i freaked out.. he was burning it for me.. i thought omg what am i doing is he phycho..lol.. but it does wk.. trust me.. let me know if you try it... hope you feel better soon. manda

The Tutti Dolci smell incredible! The lipglosses are nice, too, I
just haven't gotten any of my own yet.
Now if you like fragrances that make you remember wonderful things
from childhood, I can highly recommend the Demeter line. It's hard
to find a dealer that carries a good selection. I finally found a
dealer on Ebay, AWHUMMER (her name is Willow) who carries the best
selection I have seen anywhere! That's who I just got the vanilla
cake batter scent, body wash and lotion, from. The first Demeter
fragrance that I bought was Ginger Ale. I swear to whatever higher
power you want me to, that you can smell the flippin' bubbles in the
stuff! I had been reading about the lady who helped Jessica Simpson
create the Dessert line and saw that she had created the Demeter
line. So I went lookin'. I found demeteronline.com and ordered a
few things after I found ginger ale in a local boutique. Sadly,
demeteronline.com has gone to the wayside and is up for sale. If I
thought that I could make a go of it, I'd offer to buy the domain
and their customer base and set up shop myself. I just don't think
that I could come up with the bucks. If I could, I'd be on it like
a duck on a june bug.
I haven't steered you ladies wrong yet on something that smells
yummy, have I? I know, I'm such a freakin' enabler, but hey, I'm
cute and I've got a helluva sense of humour so you've gotta love me.

How funny! I didn't know the driver from El Paso was still meeting up with the SC driver in Hurley. They split freight and go different directions. OK...hubby's off the phone and says any maps you could get your hands on would be FANTASTIC. Let's see...Fort Bliss....do you come over the mountain to get there or go around the mountain? Right now people are loving the springy scents...we have new hydrangea, Sweet Magnolia, Meadow's Edge, and Rainwater Mint, and some new fun ones coming out for summer...including Fizzy Pop, which is always a hit!

Check out scents (if you don't want to wait for the new catalog)

Well, come on over, Sandy! What...that's about a 9 hr drive, huh? You and Manda can flip for the sofa sleeper! ROFL! They said that the store in El Paso is the only full service boutique in Texas. They care the md formulations, bare minerals, Cush, Etherials, everything! And it is a tiny little store! I find that hard to belive that it is in El Paso and not Dallas, San Antonio, Austin or Houston!

Hi Manda! Frist I put my colors on in order from light to darkest with one brush. I start with my lid to brow color, then put on my lid color, then do my accent color. Liner I either do first or last, doesn't matter b/c I use the other end of the brush for that. Then I keep a little pop-up thing on unscented baby wipes on my vanity. After I'm all done applying my eye makeup, I just wipe the brush off on a baby wipe and it's ready to go for tomorrow. Hope this helps! ;) Lisa

Claudia, I have also purchased Partylite in the past. They are good candles, but Gold Canyon is still better. I am a serious candle person and these are the best around!!! Mrs. Claus's Kitchen smells like you have been baking all day. I get so many compliments on that one, but I decided to venture out and try some new scents this time. "but I'm not about to put a funky old butt in my ear."

LMBO! Thanks for the tips Bliss! I'll have to look around for a health food store. I looked around the internet before I posted and I saw an article thing on ear candling. Sounds very interested. Fire next to my hair freaks me out though. Thanks again, Lisa :)

Bliss & Henry <bliss_n_henry@...

Rather than do the paper in your ear thing, you might go to the
healthfood store and see if they have ear candles. It's the same
principle, but not nearly as dangerous. Henry has horrible wax build
up in his ears and we do ear candling on him regularly. It pulls all
of the ickiness out of the ear and up into the waxed cloth tube.
My grandmother swears that putting a cigarette butt in your ear
helps. Nicotine does help the pain some, but I'm not about to put a
funky old butt in my ear.
Another thing that will help the pain is to warm a little cooking oil
and put it on a cotton ball then poke that cotton into your ear. The
warmth is soothing and makes it not hurt so much. My old pediatrician
had my mother do that for me when I was little. Or you might try
lying down with the heating pad on your ear.
Sorry your ear hurts. It's one of the most miserable things in the
world.

lisa, i live in new mexico and there are all kinds of home remedies.. this is a wierd one but i swear it wks..

get a sheet of papper.. roll it up like a cone..small on one side like the size of a pencil.. put small end in your ear canal.. gently just barely in.. (this is the kinda scarry part)then you light the other end of cone with a match or lighter (make sure you just didnt hair spray your hair) and let it burn as close to the ear as you can... the closer the better..be near a sink of water so when it gets close enough for you, you can throw the paper in the water.. i am chicken to go to close.. during the burning you will hear popping noises. this is the heat drawing out air from the canal.. omg within minutes it is relief.. when my hubby first had me do this i freaked out.. he was burning it for me.. i thought omg what am i doing is he phycho..lol.. but it does wk.. trust me.. let me know if you try it... hope you feel better soon. manda

Went Shopping Today

2008-03-19 01:11:48

Well, I went to Beauty First and snagged a couple of containers of
Taste Body shimmer. The dirty dogs didn't have any of the matching
fragrance. All they had was Creamy, Dreamy and Juicy. Then I went
traipsing over to the Origins store and ran amok. Got a big jar of
Modern Friction and a new bottle of Perfect World. Oh, and the gift
set of Ginger Essence. I didn't know if I was gonna like it or not,
but I squirted on a little when I walked in and then spent half the
time in the store sniffing myself. I'm sure the customers thought I
was nuts! The sales assistant, Ashley, gave me samples of stuff out
the yang! She also sent me home with empty sample containers so I
could make up my own travel set.
Poor Henry just sat in the car. It could have been worse. Just
imagine if I had been at a BE Boutique or at Sephora! He'd still be
stitting there waiting on me!

offered a free Cherry Blossom Body Lotion with any $20

up your shopping list, print it out and then take it
to any B&B.
Anyway, they all looked really yummy, so I thought I'd
pass it on. :-)

Home remedies for Adult Ear Infections??

2008-03-17 02:37:22

Hey Ladies! I have a HORRIBLE ear infection in my right ear. I had one last week in my left ear and it was just mild and the pain went away after a few days. Yesterday my right ear started hurting and by 4am, it was hurting like crazy. I can feel a ton of pressure and it's throbbing (each time it throbs it feels like someone is stabbing me with a sharp pencil in the ear drum). It hurts all down the right side of my face and neck. It's so bad I can't even sleep on that side or even hold the phone up to that ear. Does anyone know any home remedies for ear infections? I just took a decongestant, so we'll see if that helps. If any knows of anything I can do, please let me know. Thanks, Lisa :)

Hi Lisa,
Isn't that stuff great? :0)A friend told me about this

He'd spilled cranberry grape juice on a light gray

Let's just say that stuff has saved MANY outfits

Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

I need to talk and I was hoping somebody from the group might be awake right now.

My oldest daughter (16) was in a car wreck tonight. We've had a lot of problems with her over the past year (men, internet-need I say more). Anyway, she has been living at a residential treatment place for awhile. They called tonight and left a message. One of their vans was hit by someone going 15-20 mph over the speed limit and who ran a red light. There were six kids in the van. The impact was enough that it made the van my daughter was in slide and then roll over. The side she was on was the side that ended up hitting the pavement and the window broke so she hit her head on the road. She has glass in her arms and her hands...the people at the ER said it will eventually work itself out. There is a piece in her elbow that they couldn't find but it shows on the X-ray and they said that piece may never come out.

Does anyone have any good home remedies on how to get blood out of clothes? She bled the most of all the kids and apparently she bled all over the other people in the van. We're very lucky nothing is broken. A few stiches, lots of scratches and scrapes, and many bruises to come I'm afraid.

Luckily the lady driving the other car has insurance. I can only imagine what the bill will be for seven people having X-rays and two of them having CAT scans.

This is the full wishlist (and it is quite lengthy) so if you add any of them I'd be grateful. If anyone else chimes in that they want some of the colors then please make those the priority. I think I'll end up being able to only order about 5 different colors per order.

I'm putting a mark by the ones I'm most interested in.

Oh my gosh!!
I don't have any remedies, I've just relied on Zout to
get everything out, including red crayon and Cranberry
Grape juice, but more importantly than that is that
I'll be praying for your family and daughter.
That must have been SO terrifying.
I'm so glad to hear she and the other kids are okay.

thanks again for your thoughts and prayers!

Fog and Leaf are discontinued as far as I know, I dont know how

I am so sorry about your daughter. I hope all goes
well with the recovery. To get blood out of clothes is
somewhat easy. Use cold water and soap. Do not use
bleach until the stain is gone. Soak in water then
hand wash with soap. Rub the clothing together and the
blood should come out. I hope this helps. My prayers
are with you!!!Claudia--- purple_dragon03

say i am using my shadows.. do you use the same brush for all the
colors.. or do you use one for lites, dks, liners etc.. i know there
are diffrent types of brushes that do diffrent jobs.. but like for
hilighting.. do you use one for a pink hi lighter then the same one
tomorow to hilite pink. okay not sure if this is making sense.. but
if it is ..let me know how you use your brushes.. getting ready for

Hey Ladies! Mich had a great idea! You know how we all tend to post eye looks, blushes etc that we like. Well Mich suggested that we put a profile in our signature line so that way when we post our favorites, people can see what our coloring is and making up their mind about whether or not they would like that combo on themselves. What do you all think? It'd be something along these lines below . . . . or whatever you want to put. :) I thought this was a great idea! Thanks, Lisa

Hair: Dark reddish-brown | Eyes: Green with golden brown around pupil | Skintone: Yellow toned with rosy cheeks, wear #2.3 Medium Beige in BE, #3 Neutral in BF; acne prone, large pores on nose and cheeks | "Color Classification": Fall | I can wear any warm colors, including browns and cream but no white

JADE: [naturallyflawless] BF Sale

2008-03-09 05:57:54

Hi Jade!! Samples really are a great way to go in my opinion. ;) You can get a wonderful collection of 50 if you wanted for around $125 or so. If you wanted 50 full size jars it would cost you b/w $600 and $650. That's nuts! Does anyone ever make it through a full size jar of BE's eye colors? I never have. Anyways you'll have a lot of fun sampling!! You'll end up with a much larger selection and more beautiful colors are ALWAYS more FUN! Sorry to hear about the divorce though. =( Lisa

Lisa M....foundation color

Hi Rhonda! Since you are cool, yes you should just to #3 Medium to darken up the #1 if you need to. :) Thanks, Lisa
Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

I'm still trying to figure out my foundation color/mix. I'm cool and I started out with the 1.2/2.0 kit. I bought the 1.0 to see where that goes, however, if I need to mix the 1.2 with something darker but better for me being cool, does that mean I should jump to the 3.0?

Thanks.

UD Favourite Body Dust

2008-03-07 14:39:45

My absolute favourite is the discontinued Cake. Out of the new ones
that are still in production, I love Caramel and Gingersnap. I've got
one of each on the way from Urban Decay.
That and some of their Potion Primer. I almost bought some of their
F/X powder since they're discontinued, too, but thought I would see if
they had them at Sephora so I could try them before I bought them.
Oh, and if anyone is interested, Too Faced has a new body dust out
that smells and tastes like Sugar Cookies. It's called Peek-A-Boo and
they are saying it's a cleavage enhancer/bronzer. If it's in-store at
Sephora, I'll give it a try and then give a prompt review.
Hugs!

Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

Lisa,

I have a question about a post I thought I saw earlier but I must have deleted it. I thought someone asked you if the jars you send samples out in (clear w/white lids) are for sale. And, I thought you said they are 20 cents each.

Did I dream this? If not, I may order some of those on my next order. By the way, I got my second order today. How bad is it if you've begun planning an order before your previous one even gets to you?! LOL
