Hi Cheryl! Welcome to the group!! We are glad to have ya!! ;)

In about 2 weeks I will have custom lip balms on my site. You can order a "True" lip balm and it will come in a handy little twist up tube with a purple cap. It will be easier to apply and easier to store. ;) Be on the lookout for them in about 2 weeks. Let me know if you have any questions at all. Thanks, Lisa :)

Hey Rhonda! I know I already missed you b/c I saw that you got the compact. ;) The refillable brush can have a custom mixed foundation in it. The lid does tend to pop off a lot if you keep it in the bottom of your purse. I keep mine safely tucked into the inside pocket of mine. If you have any other questions, just ask. Thanks, Lisa =)

Cush line?

2008-02-26 17:58:22

Has anyone ever tried any of the Cush line? My mom got some Plush All-over body cream and it is like SILK. She got it at the BE store...$38 a jar. EEK! I got some off of ebay, $15 plus shipping. I also got the Avacado Butter...and man is that stuff great. In three days my dry elbows and heels are GONE. It's really creamy, like putting whipped frosting (the Betty Crocker kind) on your skin. I'm having real dry skin issues at the moment, but only in lovely little patches. I'm thinking my psoriasis is migrating from my scalp down. HAHAHA.

Still babbling....

Lisa - empty jars

2008-02-26 12:23:22

Lisa,

Is it possible and how would I go about ordering some of those clear jars w/ the sifters? The ones that you sent the JS body powders in are the ones. I'd love to get 30-50 of them. (pick your jaw up off the floor!) My mom has gotten totally into BE and BF, and so we want to maybe get full sizes of somethings we both like and split them and then have some to mix colors in and some to mix lip gloss in, etc. The little clear ones with the white lids are a bit toooo small. I'll be placing an order soon and wondered how to order them. If it is easier, and you can guide me, I can order them somewhere else.

I still think my mom is so cute. She came over today before I put my makeup on and sat in the bathroom and watched me like a hawk....then dug around in my samples and took a bunch! The Soho kit works great on her...grrrr. Then she says that she is wearing more makeup now than ever, and she looks better for it. She's thrilled to be getting the makeup spatulas/spoons. And she is so proud of herself...after trying to use Fawn BF eyeshadow as a foundation, she went north! After seeing the QVC show she uses it to do her eyebrows now. LOL. She is sooo tickled with herself. She picks up a sample of something and asked if it was an eyeshadow and before I could answer she says "Well, it doesn't matter now, does it? I can use it anywhere!"

Ah...but I babble.

Hugs,

Donna

Salon Bronze tanner

2008-02-26 11:27:10

Rhonda, the tanner / airbrush thingy you tried, is it Salon Bronze? I'm gonna go out on a limb here...I set up a few months ago with a distributing company. They have awesome prices on a lot of things. (I love their candle holders!) Well, they have the Salon Bronze kits and refill cartridges. The kit is $17 and the refil cartridges are $7, and of course shipping to you. If anyone is interested, and I have more than 5 orders of each, I can get them. And not to mention a TON of other stuff. But, maybe we should wait and see how Rhonda turns out.

Favorite Smoky Eye Colors?...Kris..and eyebrows!

2008-02-26 07:14:18

Donna

Technically, from your description, you are a soft summer but with the golden highlights you have kind of put your self in a warm category.Your before picture looks like you are a warm spring. The next time you highlight your hair you should highlight with ash blond highlights versus golden blond highlights. However, if you decide to keep the golden highlights and they really don't look bad in your before picture then you will need to choose warm colors.

From your before picture you really do look warm. When I look at the after picture all I see are "lips". This is sign that you are using the wrong color. Have you ever looked at someone and all you saw were their lips, their eye makeup, or their foundation that was obviously the wrong color? This is the first sign that they are wearing the wrong color. When you look at someone no one thing should stand out. You should have a very blended look so people see you and not your makeup.Does this make sense? It is difficult to do a color analysis from a picture but I am wondering if you are really in the warm category and not the cool category. Were the greens your husband didn't like a blue green versus a yellow green?

You can't really go by the tips that they give on the BE Addicts board as far as deciding if you are warm or cool. My veins look blue and so do most people's.I am in the warm category-actually neutral to warm and I was done by the author of the book!

Let em know your thoughts and then I will guide you some more.

re: other good products

2008-02-25 18:47:17

I went to Wally World today and checked out the Almay makeup remover pads. It took me forever to find them...they don't have them with all the other makeup remover items. I thought they were kind of high priced so I decided to buy some of the Walmart brand makeup remover towelettes. I have used them before and found them to be quite adequate. Unfortunately, I just got out of the habit.

The other product I want to suggest if anyone has trouble with dark circles under their eyes is Avon's Lighten Up. I have found that that works better for me than any of the other brands out there, even Mary Kay products.

I'd be interested in the soft green and medium green. The Golden Orange sounds great too! =0)
Lisa Moore <lexismommy23@...

What kinds of green? Here are some of my choices . . .

seafoam green (very light)

soft green with gold (same color intensity as BE's Gold Leaf)

medium green with gold undertones

I do have a new green liner on the list. It's a dark green with gold flecks.

When you say golds do you mean orange toned golds, yellow golds, or just colors with gold in them? These are some of my choices for orange golds . . .

golden orange

earthy orange with golden flecks

Or do you want yellow golds like . . .

buttery gold

True as a lip color

2008-02-21 02:09:17

This makeup is so much fun, but sometimes it seems a little overwhelming because there's so much you can do with it.. especially when you start mixing different colors.:0) But it's fun and rewarding when you create something pretty though.

As for the lip colors, everyone has their own way of doing it. All I did was order some of the little pots from Lisa, put a little of my favorite lip balm or gloss in it, add my color of choice then mix.

With the balm, I did do a couple where I put the balm in the microwave for a couple of seconds just to soften it, but if you get distracted you have a big mess. With all the kids running around here .. let's just say I've had a couple of messes. :0)lol.

I did buy some labels from Staples to make it easier to keep track of what was in what.

The 3/4" round Avery labels work great for the sample jars that Lisa sends our stuff in, and you can put them on top of the purple jars, but I've been using the Avery multi-use labels for those.

They're 5/16x1/2 and come with 1,000 in a package. These also work great for keeping the lids from unscrewing when you're traveling.

Everyone here has such great ideas. But by the time I get around to trying them I've forgotten what I wanted to try... So I've started cheating. As soon as someone posts a great idea I print it off and stick it in my file.

My hubbie's going out of town for a couple trips this month and in May/June.

With no one telling me I should go to bed, I figure once the kids are down for the night I'm going to break out my file and go to town! At least I'll have something to look forward to while he's gone. :0( I'm sure, in the morning, I'll have to explain to the kids why mom's multi-colored, shimmering and glimmering though. :0)LOL!

Have fun with the lip colors! :0)

Okay, I've spent so much of the last week getting to know the foundation and eye colors. How do I make True into a lip color?
Mich <bbabmontret@...

That sounds really pretty as well. [INLINE]

Nude Beach is my favorite color.. I wear it just about every day. I mixed it with Queen Tiffany as a liner.. it really brightened up my eyes.

True is really pretty as a lip color too.

Actually, just about any shadow makes a great lip color :0) ...

Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

My first order of colors to play with were almost all purples...except for nude beach and moonstruck. So, this morning I tried foiling nude beach on the lid with true as the crease color. I just needed something a little more neutral. I REALLY liked the look. I highly suggest trying true as an eyeshadow color for those who haven't yet. It didn't look too pinky, which I had expected, so it was a pleasant surprise.

Mich <bbabmontret@...

That sounds really pretty.. I ordered Haze last night
so I can actually try your comb when it gets here. :0)
I mixed Liberty (which is to dark for me) with a
little Pixy this morning and really liked the shade.
Pixy lightened it up enough that I didn't look like I
lost in a round on "the Contender". LOL. But I didn't
realize I hadn't blended it till I walked out the door
and my husband said "OH MY! You look great but you
might want to do something about the line..." LOL!!
I'm glad he told me before I headed out the door!!

Hi Manda,
I like Mary Kay's Oil Free eye makeup remover.
I think it runs around $14(?) but it lasts forever.
I wear contacts, and this is the only thing that
doesn't leave my eyes burning or blurry when I'm done
using it.
(it even takes off colorstay lipstick from kids'
faces!) lol.
I'm pretty sure that at least one of the girls here
sells MK if you're interested.
Hope this helps.

I foiled today

2008-02-19 17:13:23

Thanks for the color combo.

Rhonda, I'm having trouble with paypal, but not to worry, I will pay you! I'm off of vacay tomorrow and back at work, so if my replies are few and far betweek I appologize. If I can't get Paypal to work, I'll cut you a check. I'll let you know.

If anyone who ordered makeup spatulas ends up wanting more just let me know. I have quite a few remaining. I am amazed at how cheap it was to ship those off. I saw someone had something similar on eBay at $2.99 a dozen. I think I may just have to head over there and put some on too.:-)

Manda,
I'd say go for Almay. They have eye makeup remover pads that are non

white jar and you can find them at Walmart. I have them on my grocery
list for tomorrow!

Favorite Smoky Eye Colors?...Kris..and eyebrows!

2008-02-17 14:46:15

Donna

A couple of questions...

1. When you say your hair used to be white are you talking about when you were a child. If you were to let the highlights grow out what color would your hair be?

2. When you look at the underside of your wrist and your neck do you see pink or yellow undertones.

3. Your eyes look very dark in the picture so it was hard for me to tell much. Do you see gold flecks in your eyes when you look at them up close?

Donna,

I just ordered one of the kits off eBay. Then you just hold it over your eyebrow and color it in with an eyebrow pencil. After you take the stencil away, whatever isn't colored you can pluck. The stencils I got had four different eyebrow shapes and including shipping cost $4 and some change.

The only word of warning I have with using it if you decide to get it is to be very careful to have them level when you go from one side to the other. I got fortunate because I didn't think of that. I was only a bit off but I could see how that could cause a big problem if it were more off! :-)

Kris,
Could you help me, too?? Apparently all these nudes/naturals/browns
I've been wearing haven't been doing much for me. (Ha! I'm going
to need a new wardrobe too!) When I wear pink/rose on my eyes or
other colored clothes, hubby says I don't look nearly soo blah
(thanks! Dear!). Could you? Would you? What do you need? Here's
some stats:
dark blonde hair (used to be white) now highlighted
green eyes
pink undertone
cool, so I've been told.
There is a before and after pic of me in the group files. Ick.. I
should do a new one. Hahaha.
And will someone please help me w/ my eyebrows??? With all this
talk of eyebrows...my brows are still virgin! No plucking, waxing,
pruning, nothing. I guess you'd have to look at the pic to see
where I need to start. Hahahaha.

I tried the new Salon mist at home tanning kit today. It is the one with the little blow dry looking thing. I got it at Sally's Beauty Supply. I liked it a lot. It was easy to apply. I just stood in the shower and sprayed it on. It went on fairly evenly, except for one spot on my face. Bisque helped even that out. It looks really good around my fingers and toes compared to other tanning products I've used.

The package says it lasts for 7-10 days. I'll let you know on that. It comes with two canisters, I used one today. The whole kit was $19.99 and the lady said she thought the refills were going to be around $9 or $10.

I was able to use the BE 2.0 foundation now. It looks pretty good.

I tried foiling today with visene. I really liked the look. I used smashing on the lid, haze as the crease color and the liner, and a bit of moonstruck around my browline. I foiled both smashing and haze and applied moonstruck dry.

My poor hubby...I come out of the bathroom all happy and excited. "How do my eyes look?" uhhhh....different. LOL He said he liked the look. Of course, I also finished off with eyebrow color. I just still can't get over what a difference it makes to color in your brows! I've wasted 37 years. :-)

Someone had mentioned trying L'oreal's Transformance

I checked at our Target and found (on an end-cap in
the cosmetics aisle) that they were clearancing out a
special of Transformance with their eye makeup remover
for $13.58. I checked the cleanser/moisturizer aisle
and the Transformance by itself was $15.99 and the
remover $5.99. Gotta love a bargain.
Anyway, I'm trying it now and it feels really nice.
We'll see how it holds up today's house purging.

I told him the other day that I had ordered this eyebrow stencil set and he said men don't look at those things (eyebrows). Obviously they do they just don't realize it. :-)

Okay, I'm 37 years old, from the era of Brooke Shields...I have had my eyebrows waxed before but they never really shaped them much.

I bought one of those brow shapers off eBay and it came today. So, now I have eyebrows. I have NEVER used an eyebrow color so I feel REALLY conspicuous right now. 2008-02-07 17:51:27

My hubby just came home with a prezzie for me. It's an antique
postcard from my hometown, Odessa TX. It's so old that Odessa is
listed as having a population of only 10,000. The best I can figure,
the card dates to 1957 when they built the "new, ultra-modern"
courthouse. He found it on Ebay. I got really homesick the other
night when we were watching Friday Night Lights. They showed so many
places that I used to go. Henry was shocked at how big the band hall
was at Permian High. I honestly think I have one of the most
thoughtful hubbys ever.
He also stopped and picked me up a couple of tour books yesterday so I
would be able to plot my trip to DC better. I hate leaving him home
alone, but he really pushed for me to take this trip since things have
just been so cruddy for me the last 6 months. I swear that I fall
more in love with him every single day.

Hi Tina! I'm glad your order arrived safely. :) Let us know how the Marshmallow gloss turns out. I'd like to see how sparkly it is. I have no idea what you could add it to though. Since it's the white powder you could probably try adding it to a bit of a gloss that you normally wear. Or maybe mix a little with Carmex or something along those lines and layer it over your normal gloss? Let us know what you end up doing and how you like it. Thanks, Lisa :)

going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE cake! It's just so danged hard to find!
Too Faced has come out with a dust that tastes like Sugar Cookie. I
think I'm going to see if Beauty First has it and go get it for 20%
off next Tuesday. If they don't have it, then I'll just wait and get
it at the Sephora in Georgetown when I go to DC.

JS Taste Body Shimmer

2008-02-06 10:20:28

Okay ladies,
We have the chance to get the JS Taste body shimmer at 20% on
Tuesday. I just called Beauty First and they have in stock at the
store just down the street from me. It's $34 a container, so with the
discount it goes down to $27.20. So with tax, it should be about $29
and change a container.
If anyone wants me to get them one, let me know and we'll work out the
particulars. I have the matching fragrance and it's the one that
Henry loves the most on me for Date Night. I've tried this shimmer
and it's awesome!

Future Goddess Kits

2008-02-06 07:12:34

Well ladies, it looks like those "exclusive" Goddess kits aren't
going to be so exclusive after all. Several of the boutique
managers have said that not only will the Style Goddess be following
the first Goddess kit into the store, but the future Goddess kits
will also be available, as well.
Some of the ladies in the Delphi group who were on the BE Cruise
with Leslie say this totally contradicts what Leslie told them.
Makes me wonder if they are releasing them to the general public due
to so many being cancelled or sent back to the Q. Some gomer on
Ebay actually thinks that people are going to $100 for the Style
Goddess kit.

I think the guy is absolutely nuts, especially since it will be in
store by May. I know that I could certainly wait for it. I'd like
to see the kit and see for myself what everyone else is panning.
Who knows, maybe I can get on the list at the Atlanta boutique.

I got my order from Lisa and my trio from QVC, the fruit cocktail,
lemon and peach! The mac sample was really neat, awesome sparkle, and
I ordered some of those little pots?/jars? I'm going to try to put the
marshmallow UD with something to make a lip gloss, I love that flavor!
Any suggestions? I was going to use my MK satin lips gloss, but that
could definatly get expensive:(

GAIL - color suggestions for fair complexion

2008-02-04 09:50:45

Hi Gail! Do you use an eye shadow primer? I can't get any color to stay on my lids without a primer. I use Urban Decay Primer Potion and it gives my eye lids a nice ivory base to build on. I don't even have to use Well Rested or Bisque as a base anymore. The Primer Potion makes my eye colors more vivid and keeps them from budging all day. :) If you have any questions, just ask. Thanks, Lisa =)

MISSI - lip balms/body powders

2008-02-04 06:53:09

Hi Missi! Yep, there are custom color lip balms coming! It is EXCITING! ;) You can pick any color on the entire site and I can make it into a lip balm. They are unflavored. LMBO at the mental picture of you asking random people in the supermarket to lick your arm!! I like Caramel and it's on sale. ;) I also like Blackberry, but I think that's more of a scent for me I'm not sure a guy would like it?? But it's also on sale. Are you thinking of placing an order for a full size tub? I was thinking of getting a full size Caramel. Let me know if you are placing an order and what scent you are thinking about, maybe we can go halves or something? I don't really need a full tub. Just let me know. Thanks, Lisa :)
"~*Missi*~

Ok...I am out of the Loop. There's Lip Balms!? I'm Excited. Maybe a little Too excited!!!?

What kinds?

Lisa, how do I choose on a Tasty body powder. Should I ask random people to lick my arm or what?! LOL

~Missi

PS.

Check out my WOAH Group!
Jennifer Asher <jasher8@...

YAY, another one excited about lip balms! They will be unflavoured b/c I knew there was no way I could chose a flavor that everyone would agree on, LOL. There's just too many of us now. =)

Hi Lisa!!

I didn't mean to not get excited about the lip balms.I make tons of them,so they don't thrill me anymore...the plain ones anyway!

I like that you can color them though....I did excited over that!!

I have found that adding just a tiny amount of spearmint eo works very well in lipbalms/lip glosses and most people like mint :)

color suggestions for fair complexion

2008-02-03 12:19:14

Hi Rhonda!!! I too am very fair complected and I have hazel eyes so I tend to wear the blues, greens purples, and pinks. I also use the BE 1.0 but I have been purchasing the 3.0 and mixing the two together. I absolutely have no yellow undertones only pink ones. I have very rosy cheeks and I could not use the 1.2 or 2.3. I have a lot of success just tapping a little of each foundation color in the large lid and then swirling them together. I really like the cultured pearl, black pearl, purrfect, and trust shadows. I also use heart, tiptoe, mermaid, and haze. For liners, i like to mix Mesmerize(my very favorite) with midnight or humor. Hope this helps!!!!Sandy

re: Day 3 with BE

2008-02-03 03:39:02

Well, I'm on day three with BE. I really like the look after all is said and done. Except for my eyes, which are turning out to be quite a frustration. I can't seem to get the eyeshadows where I want them. And, it is interested how something that looks one color in a jar can be sooooo different on your skin!

I have one question though. I was running around quite a bit this morning and started sweating while putting my makeup on. I got the sweat line above the upper lip thing going. Is there something I can do with BE to help alleviate this? Or, at least make it less noticeable?

Green Eye Color Attempt

2008-02-02 11:51:31

Gail,
I actually remembered not to put anything but primer
on my lids this morning. :0)
I'm going to see if it helps in making the color show
better.
I'm wearing Well Rested mixed with Gossamer in the
inner corner of my eyes, Grace over all of the lid,
Faith in the middle, and Jewel in the outter corner
and crease.
I did foil in the hope of more staying power so we'll
see how it goes.
We have company tonight so I probably won't post about
it till after 10pm. I'll let ya know how it works.=0)
Have a great day!

Re: [naturallyflawless] which BF foundation to get?

2008-02-02 07:20:35

Hi Jenn! Yes, I would get her the #2 Warm to try. It's a match to #2 Light. If you are worried it might be a tad too dark, you can also pick up a sample of #1 Warm to mix into it. It's up to you. ;) She might be versatile like you and be able to wear the #2 Warm alone. If you have any other questions, just ask. Thanks, Lisa =)
Jennifer Asher <jasher8@...

If I use BE 1.2/2 which color would I get in the BF?

Would it be the #2 warm?

My dd likes using my BE vbut she said it itched her today so I was going to order her some samples of the BF.

Thanks :)

Re: [naturallyflawless] meet the browns and goddess part 2 ?

2008-02-01 17:05:01

Laura,
I'm not sure if you saw my post, but I liked the Meet the Browns. Unlike my other Brown colors, this one was a suble matte color and not at all sparkly.
The only colors that come with sifters (I believe) are the Goddess Kit, and Soft focus colors.
None of the other kits from QVC come with sifters.
I don't think anyone else has gotten the second goddess kit, but I'm in no rush to get it, the colors don't look very whoo-hoo. I'm thinking of skipping this one, I haven't decided yet though.

JENNIFER - bf sale question

2008-02-01 16:50:51

Hi Jennifer! You just put the Bismuth-free sale in your shopping cart and checkout. As you go through the checkout there will be a box that says "note to seller", just put the 7 colors you would like in that box. The color similar to Sorbet that I think you would like is Myth blush. Here is the link to the sale . . .

http://www.naturallyflawless.com/naturally_flawless_specials.htm

If you have any questions at all, just ask. Thanks, Lisa :)
Hi

I am interested in trying the BF line-how does the sale work
Do I email the colors and get an invoice or do I add 7 samples to my cart and then the adjustment is made. Is the 7 for $10 still available

also- what is the new sorbet like color you have

Thanks

meet the browns and goddess part 2 ?

2008-02-01 15:33:27

Hi Ladies,

Has anyone else gotten their "meet the browns" kit? I was disappointed at first glance......to start with, no sifters like in my previous kit and then the colors seemed so flat and dull. Maybe I am just used to the "sparkly" ones but these just looked like dirt to me. I thought maybe they would be different once I applied them. I'm certainly no make-up artist but I tried them and I looked like I was dirty around my eyes and needed to wash my face. I am fair with brunette hair and greenish-hazel eyes so maybe these matte browns are not for me. I am thinking these may just have to go back. It is a shame too since there seemed like a lot in each jar. :o(

Also, has anyone else gotten their 2nd goddess installment from qvc? Just wondering what was in it and looking for a review.

Thanks for your time and have a great weekend! Thanks Lisa for the body powder sampler and baby grand samples too!

Laura :o)

color suggestions for fair complexion

2008-02-01 07:40:17

You're not butting in, I'm felt like a total Chatty
Kathy! "0)
I have a hard time getting greens to stay on period.
It doesn't matter if it's BE or BFree.
Do you use a primer? Either for the face or eye?
I just put Philosophy's The Present on my lids, let it
dry really well, and then put on my bisque and well
rested.
I foil the shadow and just tap it lightly over my lid.
It seems if you tap it, instead of blending or
sweeping, to go on a little thicker.
I might try not putting any bisque tomorrow to see if
that works. I wonder if maybe the bisque is too dark
for greens?
If anyone else has any ideas please share. :0)
Hope this helps.

Mich---
I'm butting in here with a question. I ordered the Jewel in the BF and
CANNOT get any color to stay on my lid. I use bisque all over and well
rested over that and still cannot get any of the beautiful Jewel to show
up. I really don't like to foil colors. Any suggestions on what's wrong?
I wear med beige BE foundation too. Thanks. Gail
