bf salew question

2008-01-31 13:06:16

Hi

I am interested in trying the BF line-how does the sale work
Do I email the colors and get an invoice or do I add 7 samples to my cart and then the adjustment is made. Is the 7 for $10 still available

also- what is the new sorbet like color you have

Thanks
Jennifer

Re: dern paypal!

I went ahead and did the verfied thing with Paypal because so many
sellers on Ebay will only sell to verified buyers. Stinks, but that's
the way so many of them are.

which BF foundation to get?

2008-01-30 23:17:34

If I use BE 1.2/2 which color would I get in the BF?

Would it be the #2 warm?

My dd likes using my BE vbut she said it itched her today so I was going to order her some samples of the BF.

Thanks :)

color suggestions for fair complexion

2008-01-30 21:52:48

Mich,

Thanks so much for all the suggestions. I am learning that the medium to dark colors online are really dark in person. The Mimi comment made me chuckle. :-)

Rhonda
Mich <bbabmontret@...

Hi Rhonda,
I have really fair skin, blue/green eyes and brown
hair.
Here are the colors I like.
BE colors:
Greens: Purrfect (olive green)
Faith (mint green)

Blues: Liberty (Blue with silver)
Grey: Pacific Heights (grey with hint of lilac)
Skyline (grey with tinge of lavender)
B-Free:
Greens: Sprite (light green)
Sage (pearly sage green)
Jewel (med. jewel green)
Seaside (2-tone green/blue)

Blues: Pixy (silvery baby blue)
Voltage liner(baby blue with gold & silver)

Other liners I wear as shadows are Mesmorize(deep
lavender) and Spunky (violet with hot pink).
I always swore I'd never wear blues or purples again,
but after I saw all the awesome colors on Lisa's site
I couldn't pass them up. :0)
I tend to go with the lighter colors, otherwise the
darker seem to make me look like I got socked in the
eye. :0)
With the brighter colors, I usually "foil" them. (mix
a little in the lid with a drop of Visine). Let it dry
and then blend till I get the intensity I want.
The liners are especially pretty, and if done with a
light hand =0) lol, you won't look like Mimi from the
Drew Cary show.
Hope this helps.

Bliss, I hope your trip picks you up out of the doldrums. Your mention
of Krispy Kremes made me think of an order I got a couple of weeks ago
from Bissy's Boutiques. It's a Krispy Kreme body cream and it smells and
feels like heaven (with donuts)). Maybe just wearing the smell would save
you some calories :) At least that's what I'm trying to do. I know
reading this list picks me up so stop in often.

YAY, another one excited about lip balms! They will be unflavoured b/c I knew there was no way I could chose a flavor that everyone would agree on, LOL. There's just too many of us now. =)

Hi Lisa!!

I didn't mean to not get excited about the lip balms.I make tons of them,so they don't thrill me anymore...the plain ones anyway!

I like that you can color them though....I did excited over that!!

I have found that adding just a tiny amount of spearmint eo works very well in lipbalms/lip glosses and most people like mint :)

JADE . . .

2008-01-27 23:42:05

What kinds of green? Here are some of my choices . . .

seafoam green (very light)

soft green with gold (same color intensity as BE's Gold Leaf)

medium green with gold undertones

I do have a new green liner on the list. It's a dark green with gold flecks.

When you say golds do you mean orange toned golds, yellow golds, or just colors with gold in them? These are some of my choices for orange golds . . .

golden orange

earthy orange with golden flecks

Or do you want yellow golds like . . .

buttery gold

Thanks, Lisa =)

re: color suggestions for fair complexion

2008-01-26 22:14:56

I have the purples covered but I'm really interested in trying some blues, grays, and greens. I am pretty fair (using BE 1.0 and 1.2 mix) for foundation and in the past with other makeup lines these colors can have an overpowering effect. Does anyone have really fair skin and have found success with any of the BE blues, grays, and greens? If so, can you pass along the colors so I can try them?

Thanks.

re: make up spatulas

2008-01-26 20:07:45

I had about 10 people express an interest in these so far. I would like to mail them out Friday afternoon so if there is anyone else interested in taking me up on the offer please send me an email with your address as soon as possible.

Also, since I got my shipment yesterday I tried the spoons out to make sure they fit in the jars. They fit in all the jars quite easily expect for the little 2ml lavendar jars. In that case, just flip the spoon over and use the handle. :-)

Re: [naturallyflawless] RHONDA - Have a laugh at my expense

2008-01-26 12:49:44

Lisa,

Hi! Yes, I tried them out yesterday. I like the bisque! It appears I'm one of the lighter gals so I think I'm going to end up ordering some of the BE 1.0 foundation to mix with 1.2. *sigh* I hate being so fair. I loved the kiss me blush too. The eye colors I didn't do as well on with the application. But, I was rushing too. It is truly amazing how far this stuff goes.

I'll let you know how it goes with the other colors!

FYI - I had about 10 people from the group take me up on the makeup spatulas offer so I'll be sending those out this weekend.

Lisa Moore <lexismommy23@...

Hi Rhonda! Did you try out your minerals yet? I'm dying to know what you think. ;) Thanks, Lisa
Rhonda Powell <rhonda_k_powell@...

I got my shipment from Lisa today!! [INLINE] I open it up and there are so many little jars. I'm thinking surely I didn't order this much stuff. I start looking at the labels....nope, these don't sound like colors I ordered.

So, I head down to my computer to email Lisa and let her know I think I got the wrong order when it finally hits me....the names I didn't know are the UD body powders. *duh* My husband would have killed me if I tried to return those. :-)

I would've been trying to put these little jewels on my eyes. LOL

Hey Claudia! I was thinking for 1/2 teaspoons for $19.98 every other month or $9.99 a month. Do you all think that's fair?

I can definitely get a yellow for you. Do you want a yellow corrector or concealer type product so it's matte? I'm guessing that's what you are looking for. I'm picking up a beige concealer for the bismuth-free line and a green corrector. ;) Thanks, Lisa

Re: [naturallyflawless] Lip balm v lipgloss

2008-01-24 11:35:30

Hi Tina! The two biggest differences that pop out in my mind are the packaging and the shinyness (is that a word?). Lip balms come in chapstick like twist up tubes. Lipglosses come in little 'bottle' type containers with a wand applicator. Lipglosses are very glossy or shiny and balms just give a little shine to the lips. The colors don't really vary though. The balms can be just as pigmented as the glosses. ;) Just let me know if you still have any questions. Thanks, Lisa =)

Hi Bliss! Cheer up hun! I hope things start to perk up today. ;) A Krispy Creme sounds good!

YAY, another one excited about lip balms! They will be unflavoured b/c I knew there was no way I could chose a flavor that everyone would agree on, LOL. There's just too many of us now. =) The *best* thing about the lip balms is they will be made in any color from the whole entire site! No more dipping your lip brush into the tiny tub of your favorite eye color or blush that you made, now you can just order a custom made lip balm and always have it on hand for easy use. I, myself, *hate* using a lip brush so I have been searching for something like this for around a year now. FINALLY! :)

OH, the auto-delivery thing is an Eye Color Club. It will probably be $19.98 every other month or $9.99 a month (for those that prefer monthly billing). Every 60 days you will receive (4) 1/2 teaspoon size jars of your favorite colors from the site. You can choose from either BE or the Bismuth-free line and it can be anything from glimmers, glimpses, shadows, and liners. :) Talk to you soon! I really hope your day starts to get better. Thanks, Lisa =)

Out of the Loop

2008-01-23 18:04:19

I have been really out of the loop lately, posting here and there.
I really need to get back and read about this new AD thing that Lisa
has going on. I also need to get in touch with Lisa about my
purchase from her.
Where as the last week and half gone???? Everything was going along
at a pretty good tick when a monkey wrench gets thrown in and I lose
track of what's going on in my life. How the heck does that
happen? Last friday I went to my office for the last time.
Everyones desks were bare and there were only a few people
meandering about, hugging each other and crying. I spent some time
with one of my old managers, made her laugh with a few of my
witticisms. I guess that I've been a little on the depressed side
about it. I spent 7 years of my life with these people. They
watched my little girl grow from an infant to a beautiful 1st
grader. They were at my wedding a year and a half ago. They visited
me in the hospital when I had thyroid cancer and again when I had a
hysterectomy a year later. I'm just a little sad right now.
I do have a great trip coming up. My first in nearly 8 years
without my daughter and my first time to be away from my husband
since we became an "item". Now Rhiannon has taken week long
expeditions to Louisiana with her grandfather and I've been good
with that but this is going to be me leaving her. Sigh, why does
parenthood have to be so hard?
I need something good...something sparkly or beautiful. I need
something tasty, maybe a Krispy Kreme or 12. Henry is out on a
photo shoot for a River Festival press conference. Maybe I can get
him to stop by KK and get me a bit of yumminess.
I think I'll go back to watching an old ep of the Gilmore Girls.

Hi:

I'm new to the list. First of all I want to say thank you to all of the ladies here. I am already getting such great ideas and information. I am 56 years young and have decided to give these products a try based on what I have read in other sources and what I have read here on the list regarding this product.

I would like to see more blues, lavenders and purples, the cool colors. There seem to be a lot of browns and the warmer colors in the pallette.

Thanks

auto-delivery eye shadow club . . . .

2008-01-22 10:34:39

Hi V and Manda! :) Yes it will be one flat rate price, no matter if you get BE or BF. That's the only simple way to do it. Yes, you will be able to skip a shipment, but there is no way for me to delay a shipment. The paypal subscription payments only come out on the days they are set up for and they won't allow me to change that. The shipments can be skipped, but it will have to be done by the subscription payment going through and then I would just refund it. You couldn't skip the rest of a payment though. Like the auto-delivery is set up on monthly payments right now and every other month pays for the rest of the shipment. Does that make sense? So a person couldn't skip the payment that is paying for their shipment that already went out. =) It will start in about two weeks. My webmaster's computer died? or something and she won't be back up until the beginning of next week if I'm correct. If you girls have any other questions at all, just ask. Thanks, Lisa
:)
V <sweetpuppylove@...

So is it going to be one flat price? Will we be able to delay or
skip? Is it BE only or can we choose from the BF line too? Will the
price be the same?

What colors would you like to see more of?

2008-01-21 20:36:21

Hey girls! I'm getting ready to place an order for new bismuth-free shades. What colors would you all like to see more of? We have a really wonderful variety of eye shadows but I was noticing that we need to expand some of the colors. Please send me your recommendations. ;) Do we need more purples, blues, greens, browns?? I'm definitely expanding the blush line. We don't have near enough warm toned blushes in my opinion. Please send me your recs on the whole line. Oh I'm also picking up a new line of products called Illuminators. They are shimmery colors that apply allover your face (sort of like Clear Radiance or Gossamer) and they come in a variety of shades. . . . pink, yellow, nude, opal, gold, etc. They are a lot of fun! I tested them over the last 2 weeks and I love them! I can't wait for you all to see them. There is also another VERY exciting product coming . . . lip balms!!! WOOHOO! You all are going to have so much fun with these! They make your
lips super soft, but give them subtle color. They're gorgeous!

I've been very busy lately trying to expand our products. That's why I haven't been around much. Sorry about that. It means more great things to come though! ;)

Just an update on the eye shadow auto-delivery kit . . . I'm going to do a pick your own set each month. I figure that would be the best way to make everyone happy! Talk to you all soon! Don't forget to send me your recs! Thanks, Lisa :)

Re: [naturallyflawless] JAN . . .

2008-01-21 11:32:43

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome. I am new to BE and this group. I started using them about 4 weeks ago. I started with the kit from the infomercials. I'm not sure if I am using them right, I get the feeling I am using too much at a time. I have been reading all your tips and suggestions and they are really helping me.

I read somewhere about Sephora stores carrying BE and found one in a mall close to me. Packed up the kids today, couldn't wait to get there and see everything. I was gonna do some serious damage on my credit card!! And.....they didn't have any!!! I was so disappointed. The clerk there said they might get some in the end of April so that they can have an entire shelf of it. Oh well....

I have lots of questions for you. First I guess is where do you buy from. Do you get samples or just go ahead and get the full sizes. I want to start getting some face colors and eye shadows and have no idea what to start with. Suggestions??

Well, thats enough for now. Look forward to getting to know everyone. Jan

Grrrrrrrr....Arrrrrrrgh!

2008-01-20 15:29:56

Well, 2/3's of my QVC order arrived today and wouldn't you know that
it didn't go well? I met the Browns and will be shipping them right
back where they came from. They look like varying shades of
Oklahoma red dirt. The eyeliner set that I should have gotten was
sugarplum and amethyst. That I got was sugarplum and eclipse, a
colour that I will never wear in a million years.
To top it off, Henry ratted around way too long and didn't get my
bank deposit in on time to the bank so my student loan payment is
going to go SPROING when it hits the bank tonight. Now he has a
good reason, he was at Barnes & Noble buying me tour books for DC.
It's a very sweet gesture, but it really screwed up my student loan
repayment plan. Now I get to start from scratch and put school back
on hold for another year.
All I need now is for the dog to turn out to really be female rather
than male and pregnant.
Somewhere out there, there's a White Russian with my name on it-

Eye makeup primer

2008-01-20 06:13:50

Hi Vanessa! The Urban Decay Primer Potion is the best eye makeup primer out there. I swear by this stuff! It's amazing! Thanks, Lisa :)
Vanessa <r-vchiavetta@...

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll probably go with the Mary Kay
Brand since it's a brand I know and "trust" Has anyone used their eye
primer?? I used to use the triple action eye enhancer as an es primer
but am almost out and was wondering about that one. Anyone have any
better ideas for an eye primer? I discovered I need more the just
smashbox primer on my lids.

So, I head down to my computer to email Lisa and let her know I think I got the wrong order when it finally hits me....the names I didn't know are the UD body powders. *duh* My husband would have killed me if I tried to return those. :-)

Hi Donna -
Whew sounds like it's a handful! But I hear you on the glycolic acid.
My facial lady had me try a ga wash too and yeah it is a bit weird
putting it on your face without water. I also noticed that if for any
reason I have a scratch on my face no matter how small, once I put
the ga on I can surely find where it's at - just follow the burn ~ ha
ha!
The antioxidant spray sounds nice though. Thanks for the input/update
and I'll be sure to check in with you again towards the middle of
April! Hope it all goes well!!

I believe that it is an actual botique. I do know though you have to
be a ticketed passenger to visit, it is beyond the security
checkpoint. I am so jealous, I am in Oregon and there are no botiques,

2008-01-18 14:44:05

Okay, the BE website says that they have a location at the Atlanta
airport. I've got a trip that has a layover in Atlanta in mid-April.
Does anyone know if it's an actual store or is it just glorified mall
hut? Either way, it's BE in person and I'm pretty jazzed about that!

re: body powders, BE

2008-01-18 09:37:09

Woo-hoo...I'm smelling like cocoa right now. LOL I hurried (understatement) and played with my BE because I had been cleaning house and didn't have any makeup on. I like the bisque. Unfortunately, I learned I am one of those people who has a REALLY light complexion. :-( I think I need 1 and 1.2 mixed together. Darn, I'll have to place another order. *sly grin*

I like the kiss me blush too. I played with a couple of the eye shadows but didn't have much success at getting the liner on just right. Never thought I'd say it but...glad I have eyeglasses right now. Hides it just fine with the rims. :-)

So, now that I'm looking pretty and smelling (and hopefully tasting) good I decided to put on one of my husband's favorite shirts of mine. Darn, I didn't have time to shave my legs. Oh well, I didn't put any body powder on them so maybe he won't notice!

I may not be back on tonight. [INLINE]

I use Philosophy's cleanser too, but it leaves my eyemakeup and some
of my foundation on my face. What I do is, was my face then use a
Buff Puff w/ purity and wash my face again with the Buff Puff, then
use Bliss Lid + Lash wash for my eyes. If my pores are clogged I
follow up with a five minute mask of Bliss Cleansing Milk.
After that I use Bliss All Around Eye Cream and Merle Norman
Moisturizer for Normal/Oily skin.

My suggestion is philosophy. I've never used a cleanser that cleared my skin up and took away all of the makeup. It literally melts the gunk off of my face and leaves it feeling SO soft. I do that and then moisturizer/eye cream and it is to die for. You can call them and get samples but not sure what the number is. I know someone posted it at some point - maybe they still have it?

I've heard you ladies talking about various cleansers, moisturizer, etc. and I have a question.

I have been really bad about taking care of my skin. It never was presented as a priority to me when I started wearing makeup and, I'll admit it, I'm lazy when it is night time and I'm tired. For years I have regularly gone to bed with makeup on and washed my face the next morning when I have more energy.

I'm 37now and I am beginning to appreicate my skin more. I want to start taking care of it but I won't do it if it becomes too complicated. So, what product/s do you suggest that I give a try for cleaning and moisturizing? I just need less steps when I'm ready to go to bed at night.

Thanks!

The AD kits are the Auto Delivery kits. You have to get in on the
ground floor with those to be able to get the subsequent kits. Most
of these come from QVC, like the Goddess Kit. You can get on AD
through the BE site if you do the AD on foundation and mineral veil or
if you join the Eyeshadow club which is pretty much just a quarterly
auto delivery of pre-selected colours.

Good afternoon ladies!

I am so eager to get my first shipment of BE samples. I'm waiting for the dog patrol to let me know the delivery guy has arrived. *fingers crossed for today*

Lisa said it would be okay to throw out this idea/offer to you all so here goes. I've read about all you guys mixing colors together and I was trying to figure out how I was going to do it. Someone mentioned a makeup spatula so I checked on Ebay (where else, of course) and the picture of it made a lightbulb go off.

I used to be a Tastefully Simple consultant and I have a large quantity of the little spoons that we'd use with our samples left. They would make perfect makeup spatulas because the scoop part would help give you and idea of how much you're actually mixing together in case you ever want to make the same color again. Anyway, I'd be happy to offer them to the ladies on the group for free. The only cost would be postage and for a padded envelope.

If you're interested, tell me how many you'd like and your address. I'll package them up and let you know how much the shipping was after I ship it off and then you can send me a check.

Clear Radiance is an all over face color that provides a natural
luminosity that is similar to the dewiness of a child's skin. It's
that "you're too darn cute I just have to pinch your cheeks" look.
Also available is WARM Radiance, which is just a sun-kissed, golden
bronze version of the Clear Radiance. It'll still add that natural
luminosity, but with a sun-kissed glow.
Mineral Veil is for the ultimate, translucent "finishing touch" to
your makeup, Mineral Veil melts into your skin, infusing it with
softness and light, giving the look you see with a soft focus camera
lens. Completely sheer and works for all skin tones, Mineral Veil
gently absorbs oil and minimizes the appearance of lines and pores.
Buff on Mineral Veil over bareMinerals Foundation to lend extra
staying power.
Basically, Mineral Veil is translucent, you can't see it, where as
Clear Radiance gives a little color in your cheeks, chin, nose,
forehead, wherever you feel you need a little pick-me-up for hum-drum
skin.
I know this is a lot to take in at once, but I hope it helps.

ok- the mineral veil is like the finishing touch to your foundation. The prez from Bare Escentuals says it gives you the soft focus look. I think it just kind of seals your foundation and takes away any shiny areas. The clear radiance is an all over face color that is very sheer but gives the illusion of younger, youthful skin. I like to use the clear radiance last over my blush and across my nose and eyelids. I also love to foil it on my eyelids. THe gossamer is also an all over face color. I have worn it over my eyeshadows to add a little sparkle for evening and also over my blush. I really don't tend to use it everyday, just for special occasions. Everything seems to be so versatile, I see that so many women use it differently. Hope this helps-Sandy:)

Just think how those matte shadows can be jazzed up, though! Add a
pinch of Gossamer or Nude Beach. Voila! Instant sparkle and
yumminess! The Browns should be arriving here by the end of the week.
I swear that QVC has a bunch of organutans working in their shipping
department. I ordered three items, one alone and two together. Only
two of the items have shipped and it wasn't the two that were ordered
together. The first one that shipped, last Friday, was my eyeliner
set of Sugarplum and Amethyst. Meet the Browns shipped yesterday. Of
course, the item that I really, really wanted to ship first, the Clear
Radiance set, is still sitting in flippin' process. Grrrrrrr,
arrrrghhh!
Maybe I'll get the hang of QVC eventually.

this morning, using same 1.2 foundation, and it just covered all those
freckles with one swipe... while with using el cheapo i had to rub,
rub and more rub and get a kinda coverage..then i would get red...lol
omg.. i dont even need coverage to hide the freckles. so my advice to
newbies... dont even think about using BE till you get a BE brush,
makes all the diffrence in the world.. i would see posts about how
good be coverage was and think, my face must be bad... lmbo.. its not

mixture of foundation and CR

Hi I have been out of town and I had 207 posts to read today. someone posted a mixture of 1.2, 2 and CR I think. would you mind reposting that? also discribe what it looks like. Thanks. Also The Intuition from the goddess kit also makes me look like I have a black eye. I tried it as a liner and I love it especially with trust and queen tiffany. About the compact I got mine in the informercial kit. at $25 by it self, I would just get the kit. you get that, the kabuki brush, plus so much stuff. You could re sell on e bay the products you don't need.

Re: [naturallyflawless] mixture of foundation and CR

2008-01-09 02:20:43

Hi Lisa,
I mix 1.0,1.2, CR and Gossamer together and buff
really well.
If you don't add too much Gossamer it leaves your skin
looking brighter.. not too shimmery either. (that's
even with using Lisa's BF Shimmering finishing
powder).
I can use BE (off and on) in the Winter, but not
Summer. So come warmer weather I just do the same
mixture but with the BF foundation colors instead.
Hope this helps.

Welcome to the group, Bash. Lisa who is the listowner of the group
has a website at www.naturallyflawless.com where you can get
information and order samples of items to try. Her current specials
are 4 samples for $10 or 9 samples for $20. She can also answer any
questions you may have on the uses as well as members here in the
group. There are files stored for this group with color help and
tips to guide you. I've ordered several times from Lisa and have
always been pleased with her efficient and speedy service. I got my
first set of samples from her on ebay and am still using those. The
samples are very generous so you don't have to spend a lot of money
while you're learning to use the products.

Oooooo V!!!
OK tell me,do they have any shimmer to them at all or are they matte?
I kinda hate that I cancelled my full size order from qvc but my cc was
like 20 CENTS short...lol....
I have a really low limit on this one and didn't have dh's.
I chose to send a check thinking I would switch it to CC but then dh had to
buy a $250 fule pump for the van :(((
But I knew I could always buy samples from Lisa :))

I just got one in my infomercial kit. I'm going to use it as the
place to mix 1 and 1.2 so that I'll have the perfect colour of
foundation always ready.
I'd kind of like to get a second one to carry with me but the darned
things are way too expensive! It would almost be worth getting a
second infomercial kit just to get it all again!

Are you talking about the BE compact that is red? It
came with the handy dandy brush and carrying case when
i ordered the QVC Getting Gorgeous case. I use it
every day. If not ignore this caffeine driven

I've Met The Browns!

2008-01-07 04:09:31

I was totally bummed out b/c I thought my Meet the Browns set was at
my mother's office waiting for me to come and pick it up tomorrow (as
she's on vacation this week) when the UPS truck came to my house!
QVC sent the package to the wrong address! (Though it's good b/c then
I get it NOW, bad b/c my grandma saw that I buy things from QVC...NOT
GOOD.)
Anyway, the browns are SO PRETTY, not quite like Cocoa or any other
brown I have.
here's what the box says for those of you who don't have it yet:
Wearable Eye KIT MEET THE BROWNS
i.d. Bare Escentuals presents the most wearable trio of complementing
colors your eyes will ever meet. This family of easy-to-apply, 100%
pure bareMinerals Eyeshadows has been tried and tested on a wide range
of skin tones and eye colors to assure these shades will be wearable
on you. Specially formulated with just the right amount of coverage
and opacity, these versatile colors work harmoniously together for a
truly well-balanced eye. Whether you have blue, hazel or brown eyes,
you'll find the Wearable Eye Kit is ready-to-wear on you.
APPLICATION TIPS:
For light to medium skin tones, wearable Brown Light Eyeshadow
provides your all-over base lid color from lash to brow, and can also
be used as a highlighter along the brown line. Use Wearable Brown
Medium eyeshadow as your crease color, and apply WB Dark ES wet along
your top and bottom lash lines. For a softer look, smudge the liner
with WB Medium ES.
For Darker skin tones, WB Medium ES provides your all-over base color
from lash to brow. Use WB Light ES as your crease color, and apply WB
Dark ES dry along your top and bottom lash lines. For a more intense
liner, use WB Dark ES wet.
Can't wait to try it!

Re: I got another compliment today! -- Meri

2008-01-06 09:23:50

Meri,
Well, it is almost a week now...and all I can say is that it is
going. LOL. I have the combination skin kit and this has got to be
the oddest stuff. LOL. The cleanser, you put on a dry face.
Hello? How often were we told warm/hot water first to open the
pores to clean them out?? And you only use like the size of pea for
your entire face and neck. That takes stragetigic smearing. Then
dampen your hands and lather...ok, I get about 6 soap suds. Then
the Facial Lotion...which really isn't lotion, i.e. moisturizer at
all. Its clear-ish watery, and again, you use a pea sized amount.
Then the eye cream...the usual stuff...pat under eye and at the
corners to hydrate the little lines there. Then the antioxidant
serum is last...which is actually the moisterizer. Very thin. It's
funny, after the "lotion", my breakouts seem redder, but after the
serum they calm down to almost skin tone. Some Rev-R-Upper after
that and then I start the minerals. I'm sure the other kits have
different stuff in them. It seems to be going well. They had
warned me that the glycolic acid gets into the pores and brings the
ick to the surface...I heard that as, your face will get alot worse
before it gets better. As I said, everything seems to be going
well, no new breakouts. There was a thing yesterday, after I
cleansed, I put the eye cream on, and the bottom on the eye
socket/top of the cheekbone on both sides BURNED and turned
red..think of like laying a curling iron on it for a second or
two..that is what it looked like. So, I'm not sure if I'm reacting
to something or not. Oh, and I went back and got the Moisture
Defense Antioxident Spray. You spritz it on your face (over or
under your makeup) for a refreshing burst of moisture. Has camomile
(sp?) in it and feels really nice. So...the verdict is still out.
Ask me in another week! ;-)

Hi Donna -
I know it hasn't even been a week yet since you're gotten the MD
Formulations but I'm dying to know how it's going? I can totally
sympathize with you - my skin decides to freak out every so often on
its own for no apparent reason! I was actually thinking about trying
the MDF that BE carries but wanted to hear some feedback from people
first. For that matter, if anyone has used the MD Formulations and
can tell me more about it, I'd love to hear. Thanks!

Re: OT Kids

2008-01-05 19:08:33

I'm sorry!!!
Oh my, I got goofed up. :( Sorry!!
I totally understand what you're talking about though,
we miscarried 2.
It definitely makes you appreciate even more the ones
that you do have running around and messing up the
house. :0)
Our oldest, 13, says he wants more bros. or sisters. I
thought babysitting my neice (1) might take care of
that but they all keep asking for "at least one more".
:-)
We have quite a few adoptions in our families, so
we're totally open to that as well. But I think I'd
like to enjoy our youngest (2), just the two of us for
a little while, (when our 5 year old goes to school
this year) before we decide on that.
I'd love to have more, biologically, but I don't think
my body could handle it... and about that labor thing
:-O I'm just not keen on that aspect of it. LOL!
Sorry again, I know sometimes it's hard to talk about.

Hi Dawn,
Sandy entered this last week in response to other's
posts about dermabrasion kits. (see below)
As a stay at home mom of 4 I there's no way I could
try all these awesome sounding products, but I did try
her suggestion and it worked great.
I used it once last week and will again tonight.
I could tell a difference after the first time.
Hope this helps. :0)

Re: [naturallyflawless] Product Review/PS

2008-01-05 04:59:35

Sorry,I sent too quick :)

I wanted to say also that I wasn'r arguing about it or anything :) but I still think lanolin is awesome...unless you're allregic to wool that is!

I know everyone is soooo different.I have no problem using animal oils but that is just me :))

I have real dry, sensiitve skin, mineral oil and/or vaseline doesn't bother my skin.I am sure that it would someone with oily/acne prone skin though.I wouldn't slather vaseline on my teenaged son's face..lol....that would be a mess.It is a good skin protectant too.though.

Shea butter is what I can't use on my face...or anything with shea butter in it...eek!

I have tried it and it makes me break out in huge, painful zits that last for weeks and leaves a scar for onths!

I can use it on the rest of my body though....weird huh?!

I got those samples you sent me...I am SOOOOOO sorry about not getting back to you. It's been a really hard last few months but that's still no excuse.

Okay, I have to admit that I'm kind of scratching my head over that
response to my post. Was it supposed to be an educational post or one
to slam anything that isn't the product that you sell? I'm not being
critical, just trying to figure it out, that's all.

Re: [naturallyflawless] Product Review

2008-01-04 12:20:55

First of all let me say that I have learned so much from all of you.You girls are so entertaining and informative. Even though I am older I have ALWAYS loved makeup!!

It is obvious to me that you girls care about your skin very much and that is why you chose BE. I too love the all natural side of BE. When I first used it my cheeks got a little red. I thought it was the Mineral Veil but now all of a sudden my face looks normal again. I guess it just took my face a while to adjust.I know you girls know that I sell Arbonne. It is a botanically based product that does not contain mineral oil or animal products. As far as I know we are the purest botanically based product on the market.I feel like I am cheating on Arbonne but I just love the BE. Yes, I am getting addicted! However, I will NEVER stray from their skin care.

I am not trying to sell you but educate you a little bit on skin care ingredients. Mineral oil is made from crude oil. In other words it is refined petroleum oil( yep the thick kind). Anything with mineral oil in it acts like a plastic coating on the skin which doesn't let your skin breathe(release toxins or let any other product you put on go into your skin). It actually dries your skin out. If you want to look older faster use products with mineral oil in them. Please, please ,please check the ingredients on the back of your products and make sure they don't contain mineral oil.Skin care companies use mineral oil because it is cheap($1 a gallon versus $18 a gallon for botanical oils. 95% of the skin care products out there contain mineral oil.

Animal by products come from rendering plants. These plants take in road kill, grease from fast food places, euthanized pets, the fat the butcher throws away and grinds all this together. The oil that floats to the top is the oil that is put in skin care ,soap, candles, and etc.Do a search on rendering plants and see for yourself. Again make sure your skin care doesn't contain animal by products.

Lanolin comes from sheep sweat.

It is no wonder so many women have skin care problems in our country today with all the bad ingredients in them.

Since you are all interested in all natural products please use an all natural skin care too. There are many different brands of all natural skin care out there. If you decide you would like to sample Arbonne I will be happy to help you. If not, then I will just be happy taking "makeup" with you girls. You girls are the best!!

Product Review

2008-01-04 05:13:55

Okay, I was given some samples of Modern Friction, Origins new scrub
that they are calling Nature's Gentle Dermabrasion. I've gotta tell
you, I really liked it! My skin was so smooth afterward and not
flaky and dry at all like some scrubs leave my skin.
Once my sample sizes are gone, I'm gonna cough up the buckage to get
the full size of this one. Just another Origins product to add to
my regimen. Here's the list of the ones that I use on a daily basis:
Checks & Balances cleanser
A Perfect World Skin Guardian
Make A Difference
Have A Nice Day Super Charged Moisturizer
A Perfect World for Eyes
The Eye Doctor
Nit-A-Mins
The ones that I use every now and then are:
No Puffery eye treatment
Drink Up moisturizing mask
and now Modern Friction
I used to sit and watch my mother go through her skin care regimen
when I was a kid and I swore that when I was older that I would
never put that much stuff on my face. Well, think again, kiddo.
Mother Nature has caught up with me and I no longer look 7 years
younger than I am. I am getting the tiny fine lines around my eyes
and I'm getting the gray hair. I'm gonna fight it every step of the
way! My arsenal just keeps getting bigger!

I really do like it. It feels great when you do it..
like you're really cleaning your face.
I smile every time I go to open the container. It
makes me feel like I'm cheating on my diet. :0)
Too bad you can get the same sugar-high through that..
one could only hope. :0) LoL It'd sure help to get the
cravings out of my system. (this Easter candy's
killing me!!)
I'm still pushing my husband to try it. I'm going to
*subtly* leave all the contents on the counter today
and see what happens.

Re: *sigh* Willpower? What's that?

2008-01-03 00:06:41

I so need to move where the Makeup is. We've got a Von Maur and a
Dillards here as far as department stores go. And I can find Too
Faced at Beauty First ( I like their Fat Honey lipgloss), but there's
no Ulta, no Sephora. We get Walgreens and WalMart.
There are definitely some downsides to living in Oz. I don't think
there's even a retailer in KC that carries BE. My mother owns a
massage therapy business with a school. She sells all sorts of
wonderful oils and supplements. Wish she could become a BE resaler.
That would just rock in more ways than I could possibly count!
I envy you ladies who have great places to shop.

Re: [naturallyflawless] *sigh* Willpower? What's that?

Oh V, what an excursion!
I'd be the same way though.. one of my friends keeps
asking me to go to Chicago with her but I know if I
did I'd be bankrupt when I came back.
Did you really like the Bliss products that much?
I get an e-zine and they advertise for them.. I
checked out the site and now get their catalogs.
It's so hard to pay those prices when you have no idea
if they're going to work or not.
I know you can always return them, but then it means
schlepping 4-5 kids to the post office, waiting in
line...it's not worth the hassle. :0)
Give us an update on them once you've been able to try
them for awhile.. I'm learning to trust the opinions
of everyone here. I haven't been led wrong yet! :0)
Thanks,
Mich
