FYI - Sally's Beauty Supply also carries makeup spatulas. Not sure on the price but the website is showing a 12-count bag. I'll run over to the store tomorrow and check it out.

I second the suggestion to check out this site. As a REALLY new person to BE I found this site extremely information. You can check out colors, get descriptions, and often check to see if a color you're considering is most often used by warm, cool, or neutral BE users (user polls so they're not scientific but better than my guesses!).

Lisa - Remember that wish list I spoke about making...this site helped and it is quite long. :-)

Re: [naturallyflawless] BE Goddesses trying to tell me something?

2007-12-30 16:32:48

that suuuuucks. I'm sooo sorry!
V <sweetpuppylove@...

I think the BE goddesses are trying to tell me something...
I've been wanting the Essentual Brow Kit since October, and I FINALLY
plopped down $30 to get it.
So I open it to use it for the FIRST TIME tonight, and guess what happens?
Not only do I DROP the minerals as I'm closing the container, but I
lost ALL of the Minerals.
This happened once before with a container of Warmth, but I only lost
half of it.
I took a pic of how much I have left this time.
I guess the goddesses are telling me my brows are bushy enough...and I
was going to use it for an eye shadow tomorrow!
It took me forever to clean the counter, floor, mats, myself and my clothes.
Woes me,

64 year old skin

2007-12-30 13:48:18

Hello everyone,
I am interested in trying some BE and need some help in finding out what will cover best. I'm 64, using a "rose petal" shade of Mary Kay lliquid foundation which flakes up on my skin when applied. i have a ruddy complection whick is oily, and very large pores. I started trying to read all the messages in the archives to get some insight and immediately became sooo confused as to what will work for me and what shade i might need. I did read in one jof the earlier messages that someone used something called "clinique pore minimizer" to start. This ring a bell with anyone? I would really appreciate anyone who can guide me in a direction to some samples i might try to find out exactly what i need. I also need to mention i am on disability and my finances are extreamly limited so i dont have a lot of money to experiment with. Whatever information you might need from me about my skin to help me i will gladly furnish, LOL I just dont know how to go about finding out what will
help me. Thanks for any help you might be able to give me, Bash

re: BE self tanner, body dusts

2007-12-29 16:37:39

Good evening ladies!
Has anyone tried the BE self tanner they showed on QVC the other
day? If so, what did you think?
I have a fair complexion and in the past when I tried a tanning bed
it took me about five visits before I looked "normal," let alone
tan. I find it difficult to believe anyone has a more fair
complexion than I do but companies keep making products for these
women so I know they're out there. :-)
I sent an email from Urban Legend's page about the edible body dusts
to my husband's work email. *he he he* He found it this morning and
seemed quite interested. Of course, before he came home I discovered
Lisa had more of those samples so I went ahead and added it to my
order (that is probably going to become my motto around here). When
my hubby got home he said I should order one of them. I told him he
was too late and that I had ordered samples of ALL 15 flavors. LOL
Let's see, to say he was pleased would be an understatement. :-)
I forgot to mention all the other stuff I ordered to him. I don't
know which of us will be more anxious to get Lisa's package.

Another Rave Review!

2007-12-27 14:23:20

Today was the day my call center closed and we were all laid off. I
carefully did my makeup with the contents of my infomercial kit
(arrived last night!) and my Goddess kit. My skin was soft and
glowing and my eyes looked great! I am totally in love with Humour
as an eyeliner!
Now keep in mind that most of these people haven't seen me since I
went on medical leave in mid September. I had several people come
up and tell me how wonderful I looked and that my skin just seemed
to be glowing!
If I'm getting all of these compliments now, I can't imagine what
it's going to be like once I start using Clear Radiance! The only
things on my face that weren't BE was my mascara and my lipgloss. I
decided to play it safe and wear some waterproof MAC mascara. I had
just gotten Slide lipgloss in and wore that. Henry says it not only
smells yummy but tastes good when he kisses me. I think I'll keep
wearing it. *grins*
Hugs-
Bliss

Actually if you want you can email me on Friday and I might have a picture of the color to send you. I can even send you a picture of it next to the Sorbet if you remind me. Thanks, Lisa :)
I am a BE user and recently fell in love with Sorbet (thanks to a make-under from Bravon).

I am curious to try the Naturally Flawless colors and was wondering which colors would be like sorbet or one shade darker.

Also-is chart to compare which colors are similar- I know there are pictures, but sometimes it is hard to tell

This is coming from an admitted chocolate and Be/Bf addict.

If it's not my son almost taking a bite out of my chocolate soap sample, the class mom's watching me sniffing little sample jars while waiting to pick up my kids, or

it's my husband finding and getting to sample the above sugary Powders....

It's topping that off with them barging into the bathroom, finding the sugar container sitting on the counter, as I'm smearing sugar-laced cleanser all over my face... Their jaws drop to the floor in utter amazement.

"What are you doing!!"

Making myself beautiful?

Re: [naturallyflawless] BF vs. BE

2007-12-25 11:21:34

I really like them both and I do think BF has better
coverage.
I have dark circles and my undereye area tends to get
dry.. BF seems to not settle as much and look cakey,
and I can put it directly under my eyes; whereas I
can't do that with BEsc at all.
If BE makes you itchy, or in my case it feels like my
skin's being poked by needles (if you're hot or it's
humid out) BF won't do that.
I like either the shimmer or matte finishing powder..
both work great.
Hope this helps. :-)

So, is anyone in the group in Iowa by chance? I'd love to learn more
about how to mix and use the BE products in person. I'm pretty much
a hands on learner and the descriptions of how to apply some of the
stuff online is difficult for me to grasp.

BF vs. BE

2007-12-24 03:16:20

OK girls I need your opinion. Tell me how you like BF versus BE. I
can wear the BE but not the mineral veil. I thought I would try the
BF just to see how I like it. Also I have not tried any shadows or
blush yet. How do these compare to the old "in the case shadows and
blushes? As I have said before I sell Arbonne and love their makeup
but this is so easy and quick to put on. Now keep in mind I am 53 so
I need all the coverage I can get. I understand the BF gives more
coverage.What do you think?

Re: [naturallyflawless] Favorite BF?

2007-12-23 20:58:49

Leora,
Great poll! :0)
I looked through my "stock pile" and relized
I have quite a few of Lisa's BFs, so this is a hard
one.
I'm always wondering how everyone's favorites would
look on me, so if this helps...
Undertones: cool
Hair: Med. Brown, blonde & auburn highlights
Eyes: green/blue
I have a lot of favorites, sorry this might be a small
novel by the time I'm done. :0)
I really like Priceless liner and Defy shadow (I mix
them for an awesome liner).
I wore Mesmerize liner as my shadow, and as my liner
on the lower lid only, today. Along with Well
Rested/Gossamer mix.
I swore I would never wear the blues and purples
(horrid flash backs to the 80's and my funky Azziza
eye shadow collection paired with my neon blue mascara
and liner) but I really like the Spunky and Voltage
liner, as well as Smashing, Pixy and Iced Dreams
Shadows. I usually foil these so they last longer.
And then of course there's the blushes: A'mour, Pamper
and my most favorite of the three, Heartfelt.
These three make great lip colors as well.
I almost never use my BE foundation or mineral veil, I
use the BF foundations (with a little Clear Radiance
and Gossamer mixed in) and the Shimmering finishing
powder. I really do think the BF foundation conceals
more than Bare Esc.
As if you can't tell, I'm sold on her line. :0) I'm
just estatic to be able to enjoy all the colors of
both, but with the foundation and finishing powder I
don't have to deal with the incredible itching that
Bare Esc. can cause.
Now, if she ever stops selling these ... oh banish the
thought!
Have a great night!
Mich

forget about ya! Lisa :)
such a great light shade. It is probably my favorite eyeshadow, I use
it almost everyday. Works really well for right under the brow, or I
brush it all over to help blend.

new to group and BE

2007-12-23 09:26:52

I could never get the foundations to work for me..
none of them were light enough.
But I wear their Neutralizing Concealer (lavender
which I think is discontinued?)every day, and use
their Oil Free makeup remover every night. It doesn't
hurt my eyes or mess up my contacts at all. It even
removes permanent marker from a 2 year old's face. :0)
LOL.

Favorite BF?

2007-12-23 09:03:48

In honor of Lisa's BF sale, I want to know what everyone's favorites are for Lisa's BF line. I have two favorites, but I don't have a third favorite to use for the sale.

Amour Blush - this is a pretty pink, I use it for eyeshadow as much as I do for blush.

Haze Eyeshadow - I use this with my Goddess kit. I put Haze on my lid, trust under the brow, and Intuition for the crease.

I also have Glam and I like it, but it is so similar to my BE Celestine, that I don't want a full size of it.

a lot of flexibility there. I tend to wear mainly cool colors...lots

the more expensive brushes now or not. Also, should I buy some empty

Mary Kay Sale

2007-12-21 06:02:57

I noticed from previous posts that some people use Mary Kay for skin
care. I am an authorized MK consultant, I don't do a lot of sales,
mainly just buy for myself, family and 1 or 2 friends. Occasionaly I
sell to someone I don't know just by luck. I'm not in it to get rich,
I like the products. I asked Lisa if she minded if I made a make this
offer, and she was OK with it. For this wonderfull group of women, I
am offering an "Easter Sale", 25% off of retail, plus shipping,
please don't go tell everyone you know, this is just intended for us.
I don't stock a lot of product, so if anyone is interested, let me
know by say, April 8, and I will place a "group order". I'm not set
up for credit cards or pay pal, so we'll be dealing in checks or
moneyorders. I'm not looking to take customers away from other
consultants, this is just a one time thing, maybe if it goes good, we
can do it again later. It's a nice way to try MK if you haven't.

Re: [naturallyflawless] Mary Kay Sale

Just to let all of you know, my dermatologist told me that instead of the dermabrasion kits that are so popular now, just to mix a teaspoon or so of regular table sugar into your cleanser once or twice a week. This offers the exfoliating benefits as well as alpha hydroxy sugar acids. This is much gentler on your face and your budget. I promise it works, try it!!!!! Sandy:)

Re: [naturallyflawless] Learned a New Trick

2007-12-19 08:40:03

Jerri,
The one thing I LOVE about BE is that the minerals are so versatile.
You can do anything you can think of with these minerals!
Here are a few things I do with my minerals:
Use Liners as shadows
Use Shadows as liners
Use Glimmers or glimpses as liners
Mix two colors together (any two!) to get a new color that's ALL YOURS
to use as a shadow or liner!
Use your BLUSH as a shadow! Compassion from the Goddess Kit works great!
Is your blush to red or pink? Add a bit of SOFT BLACK, FIREFLY,
HOTTIE or other darker color to give it a different shade. Now you
have your own personal shadow, liner and glimmer.
How about using your LIP LINER as a eye liner? Most lip and eye
liners double, I use my EARTH lip liner as eye liner all the time.
Mix some of your BLUSH or PINK, RED or BROWN glimmer,glimpse or shadow
with some LIP BALM, BLISTEX, or other lip product you love (Burt's
Bees maybe?) for a tingly personalized lip color!
What about WARMTH as an eyeshadow? Mix it with DOWNTOWN for a sparkly
new color.
Apply your matte shadow as normal then FOIL (means applying wet) CLEAR
RADIANCE or other neutral glimmer/glimpse or glittery shadow over it
for a muted color with some sparkle.
Use Clear Radiance on your neck and chest, (especially when you're
wearing a low cut top or swimsuit!
Do you have an eye color you NEVER use? What's wrong with it? Too
dark? Add some CULTURED PEARL, SNOW, ECSTASY, DOVE, CLAY or other
light color to it to make it lighter.
Too light? Add WARMTH, SOFT BLACK, BLUE BLACK, AMETHYST, HOTTIE or
other dark color to make it darker.
Do you have a lipstick you hate? Lighten or darken it with an eye
color mixed with lip balm. (Apply lipstick, then apply your mixture
with a lip brush.) Tah dah, now one lipstick and your eye shadows
gives you MILLIONS of possibliltes...(though you may not like all
million, you can find the ones you like, or just make enough for one
application to keep things changing each day).
I bought a TON of Max Factor, Revlon and Cover Girl lipsticks this
week...my store had them on 99 cents clearance because they've been
discontinued...I hate the reds, but I cut it up, mix some lip balm and
some HOPE, and mash it up, tah dah, my own lip color palette!
Just a few ideas.
Have fun.

MK microdermabrasion review

2007-12-18 07:18:31

I tried the dermabrasion just now after giving myself a body wave
perm. What a night, I'm supposed to be washing cloths, anything to
get out doing chores:) Step one was the Refining step, the aluminum
oxide crystals feel like very fine sand or glass, definatley
exfoliating! It was easy to use, didn't take much product at all.
Just aply to wet face with fingers, gentle circle motions to rub it
in for 1-2 minutes then rinse off. Then step 2 is Replenish,
something to soothe and finish it all off. My skin felt very tight
afterwards. I think I noticed a difference, slightly smaller pores,
but my skin is pretty good to begin with. If my skin were worse, I
definatly would have seen better results. Recomended 2-3 times a
week, wait 2 days inbetween, so I'll do again Friday night. Supposed
to see results immediatly and even more so after just one week. I'll
let you know.

Hey Bliss! I actually do ban all people that spam the group. I usually don't post a message for them to stop spamming, I just ban them and move on with my day. Well this guy I banned once and he came back. It's frustrating. I like having the open membership so anyone can join, but the spammers are annoying. :) Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,
The easiest way to deal with this is to BAN the offending member.
Takes about a minute. If they join under another name, ban that
name, too.
I hate having to do things like that, but sometimes you just have to
do it. We had to do it in another group that I belong to after a
couple of the members were so hateful to Gayl (the one whose partner
died last week). We had to ban not only that couple but three other
couples who were their best friends. Since that group meets in
person on a regular basis, it can get ugly sometimes. But with this
group, being mostly web-based, you shouldn't have any trouble at all.

Re: Your Favourite Fragrances

2007-12-13 05:31:15

They do still make White Shoulders. The last time I saw it was at
WalMart.
The best way to get your fragrance to last is to layer it. If they
make the products, use them in this order: Body Wash, Lotion,
Powder, then the regular fragrance.
When I worked for Neiman Marcus, they actually gave us a hardback
book on fragrances. We were expected to know how to explain what a
green scent was or an oriental. When people would call in to place
orders, fragrance was most often our "special value" of the day.
That was where I got turned on to Issey Miyake's L'Eau d'Issey. I
was given the big bottle. You could have knocked me right outta my
chair. That darned thing retailed for $82! And because I sold the
most for that week, they gave me a full sized bottle. We were given
several different fragrances in the year that I worked there, most
of them smelled like your great aunt Margaret. I gave those to my
then mother-in-law.
If you have a hard time with fragrance lasting on you, try some of
the scents from Bath & Body Works. They are affordable and they are
almost always having some kind of sale where you can get a great buy
on three or more products. That's how I tend to buy from them. At
Christmas, I stock up on Vanilla Bean Noel. I get two or three of
the body creams, one or two shower gels and then two bottles of the
fragrance. I did splurge this year and got three of the
antibacterial pump soaps. I figured if I was going to have home
health nurses in and out, then they could smell like something I
liked. *grin* I also got the shimmer fragrance.
Henry just shakes his head when I head in there. Most of the time,
he just goes down the shopping center to Restoration Hardware or
over to Williams-Sonoma. He does like shopping for good candles
with me, though. I've finally got it drilled into him that cheap
candles smell...well, they smell cheap. Good candles burn longer
and the scent lasts longer. He now loves Yankee Candles and Air
Freshner and he loves the White Barn Candles from B&BW.
Enough babbling from me...

Shedding Brushes

2007-12-13 05:27:55

Hi,
I thought I'd post this.
I LOVE BE, but get tired of finding little pieces of
my brushes on my face.
I'm going to try lying my brushes flat or upside-down,
like they suggested.. I'm totally guilty of drying
them upright in a cup.
Maybe changing that will help.
Hope this works!
Mich
````````````````````````
How do I clean my makeup brushes
Cleaning your makeup brushes will ensure that your
makeup brushes will last for a very long time to come
and keep them in tip top condition for your next use.
gestion
You can also simply use a good quality shampoo
such as the one you're using for your hair. Try not to
use some lower quality shampoo as they could dry the
hair out. Glycerin based soaps or cleansers are not
recommend.
* Be careful not to let any cleaner or water run
inside the ferrule, as this can weaken the glue
used to hold the hair and cause shedding
problems
or even wobbly handles.
* Always keep it at a slight angle (almost
perpendicular) with the hair tips facing
downwards, NEVER UPWARDS no matter what type of
cleaner or shampoo you are using.
1. Carefully wet the makeup brush hair.
2. Place some shampoo on your fingertips and gently
shampoo the hair. Shampoo in the direction of
the
hair. Pay special attention to the hair near the
ferrule.
3. Rinse it under gentle running water, thoroughly.
Gently press it flat in a towel to dry. It is
also a good idea to lightly press it back into
shape.
4. You can then leave it to DRY FLAT on a dry towel
or HANG it up (suspended) with the hair tip
facing down.
5. REMEMBER, never ever leave it to dry with the
hair facing down or up, in a glass or container!
Makeup brushes that dry upright (with hair
pointing or facing upwards) will begin to cause
particles to collect in, and water to run into,
the ferrule and will soon begin to cause the
hair
on the makeup brush to fan out or shed and can
even cause the handle to come loose or wobbly.
JENNIFER - Bismuth-free/Naturally Flawless color question
2007-12-12 15:18:47
Hey Jennifer! OOOHHH I have the perfect color coming in for you! It's a peachy pink shade with very subtle gold shimmers. It will be a little darker than Sorbet and very pretty! It's not named yet, but it should be here by Friday. Keep your eye out for the post of its arrival. ;) I really think you will like this color. Actually if you want you can email me on Friday and I might have a picture of the color to send you. I can even send you a picture of it next to the Sorbet if you remind me. Thanks, Lisa :)
I am a BE user and recently fell in love with Sorbet (thanks to a make-under from Bravon).
I am curious to try the Naturally Flawless colors and was wondering which colors would be like sorbet or one shade darker.
Also-is chart to compare which colors are similar- I know there are pictures, but sometimes it is hard to tell
I got another compliment today!
2007-12-11 19:08:38
And it's sort of funny! A few months ago, I posted about my continuing skin problems. Where after switching to philosophy, my happy little T-zone has gone into freak out mode, and now my, normally, dry cheeks were doing a combo of flaking and breaking out. My pores have never been larger (yes, they look HUGE to me!), I'm get black heads and all sorts of nasties. Even on my neck. So, I headed back to what I had used in the past before philosophy... Oil of Olay...(hey! worked for Mom for 50 yrs!). One month of that...no improvement. Switch to Neutrogena...6 weeks of that, no improvement. So, into the BE store I go. I had checked out MD Formulations on their website and was armed and ready to go. (I really hate boutiques where you get swarmed when you walk in the door!) So, hubby in tow, I'm pulling off what their website says I need....over comes helpful older saleslady. We discuss why I think I need the Problem Prone kit. She yells (it's a little store) to this
girl that we need a consult. Turns out Leslie (no, not Blogett) owns the store. (I didn't know BE had any independantly owned stores!). Now, this chickadee couldn't have been more than 25, 28 tops. Hehe. (Keep in mind there are 2 other older customers in the store and two extremely bored and confused hubbys, mine included!) Leslie looks at me and says "But you have gorgeous skin!" She starts to continue babbling and I laid my hand on her wrist and said "No. I have on Bare Minerals!" Well both older customers sat down in the two chairs by the makeup spread and said "we need the full makeover!" My hubby burst out laughing! So, I told her my problems, she asked a lot of insightful questions, and I hope, got me hooked up. So, now, here I sit all exfoliated, antioxidized, hydrated and eye creamed. ROFL. And here I wanted a simple routine! It sure was nice, though, to talk to someone that a) seemed to care b) listened to my concerns c) discussed options with me d)
knew what they were talking about and e) didn't try to sell me the most expensive thing in the store. It was more like...get this kit, that is your cheapest option, should last you 4-6 weeks and if that doesn't get it, we'll try something else, and when we get it right, THEN we'll talk about the full sized higher priced items. Ahhh refreshing. Oh, yea, and I came out with some Bark liner and Hope (in the pink family) glimmer.
Ah, and interesting tidbit....there is a line, whether it be BE, MD Formulations, or their spa line, that has edible body dust and lotions and even a...um...sexy little weekend kit full of lotions, oils and feathers!. Needless to say, that is where I pried hubby from when I left. Lisa...can you find out anything about these? Hehehe.
Hugs,
Donna
Re: [naturallyflawless] Your Favourite Fragrances
Well, I'm not really too big on perfumes. (That girlie Girl, thing, ya know?) I've been wearing Estee Lauder's Beautiful since I was, I think, 15 or so. I do NOT do sweet scents or food scents. More power to you ladies that do! Hubby once bought me Sun Moon and Stars by Lagerfield and it was OK. I recently tried philosophy's Amazing Grace and I like that too. I like clean, light scents (that stay awhile is even better), not to much musk, and not too much sweet, like flowery sweet. Maybe all the Avon Sweet Honesty as a kid killed that for me. ROFL. I did just order the dupes of Beautiful and Amazing Grace. I have on BE's Perfect Black Dress (or is it Little Black Dress?) and I really like it. It's starting to fade now after about 3 hrs. Sort of heavy at first, then went into this citrusy smell that was pretty nice, and then just nice...please don't ask me to describe it...ROFL. I guess it is time to get my head out of the sand and be more girlie girl...now that
I gots me some *pink* eyeshadow and all. ROFL.
Okay, we've talked about what our favourite BE colours are and
that's been great fun. Now I want to know something else: What are
your favourite fragrances?
For me, I absolutely love MAC MV2, Taste and Demeter's Angel Food
Graham Cracker, Sugar Cookie, Brownie, Dulce de Leche and Cinnamon
Toast, but man, would you girls ever get bored! I also love Bath &
Where do you buy most of your fragrances? In store? Online? Ebay?
I buy all of my Demeter online at either their site or from one
dealer on Ebay whose ID is awhummer. Willow has an awesome
selection of Demeter. I order my Taste products from Sephora if the
price goes to high on Ebay. And I get my MAC MV2 at Dillards at my
favourite counter, the MAC department. I swear, just walking
what it is and I simply reply, "Taste" you'd be surprised at how
many arch an eyebrow and lean in to sniff and/or try to take a
lick. Granted, it's people that I know, but it's still kind of
funny.
I really like this group too. =0) I've become a
group-addict because of it. The kids are always asking
when I'm going to be done. :0)
I ocassionally look at the Delphi group as well, but
would never even think to post anything. It's a
totally different feel there.
It seems, unless you've been part of the group for
quite awhile, if you ask a question the only response
you get is "check previous posts". I don't know about
you, but I can never find the previous ones they're
talking about.
Anyway, this group is awesome. And I really don't mind
hearing the same question more than once.. it seems,
more often than not, that it's given with yet another
helpful tip. I love that!
As for your posts, I thought you might have gone to
school for something like that. I'm glad you like
posting with humor.. It's awesome to know we all feel
comfortable being ourselves with each other.
Well, I'm off to make dinner... I'm in a menu-rut this
week. Good thing the kids aren't too picky today!
Have an awesome night!
Re: [naturallyflawless] favorite color combo
2007-12-10 06:25:08
Oh you sound like me. My eye combos consist of some combo either
Bamboo all over lid, lined with Chicory or Pond, Faith or Envy or
Celery or Pond in crease
or
Shantung all over lid, lined with Retro, Queen Tiff or Hottie or
Downtown in crease
or
Retro all over lid, lined with Queen Tiff or Hottie or Downtown, same
color as liner in crease
I have over 100 colors, but I seem to only use these same
combinations, save for when I get new colors in, then I'll mix it up
for a week or so, but the it's back to my tried and true.
Re: [naturallyflawless] Luscious & Creamy Review
2007-12-09 21:03:20
Yuck, I hope Creamy and Luscious weren't the only two flavors you
tried! I bought the 41$ gift set a while ago and I must say, those to
flavors: not my favorite.
I prefer Dreamy and Taste. The flavors aren't true to the actual food
(but then again, what edible cosmetic is?) but it has a pleasant taste
that I love.
For me, the staying power is really good, I can put this gloss on in
the morning, and by the time work is over (9 hours later) I can still
taste it on my lips (plus a minor touch up after lunch). As long as
you don't lick or pucker your lips, you're fine.
Luscious & Creamy Review
2007-12-09 19:14:10
I got my Luscious & creamy Jessica Simpson lipglosses last week and
after trying them out... I've decided I probably won't buy them again
or buy any other "flavors". On me, they offer barely any color and
definetely no staying power. The taste isn't that great either. But,
of course I'll keep using them over my regular lipstick until I run
out. They do smell good at least :)
I also got my taste perfume and body powder the same day. all I can
say is YUMMY!! It smells soooo good! I do wish it lasted a bit longer
but that's ok.
I just found a 5-piece trial size of UD Gunk, they're flavored lip
glosses, no shipping cost. I'll let you know if I like them, you all
know how EXTREMLY anal i am about flavored lip glosses:) hate most
every type of flavor, prefere no taste at all!!!!! and that goes for
lipstick too. I guess that's the other plus with the UD lip ink, no
taste:)
favorite color combo
2007-12-09 09:18:52
Hi I just wanted to share some of my favorite color combos. I have green eyes with gold in them. I also have brunette hair.
vanilla sugar all over lid and under brow, queen Tiffany in V, I use Thistle blush with this.
vanilla sugar under the brow, BF glam on lid and Purrfect in V, I wear Sedona blush with this.
vanilla sugar under the brow, trust on the lid and Queen Tiffany in the V, I wear compassion blush with this.
I wear one of these combos almost everyday even though I have tons of other colors.
Re: UD Lipstain final review
2007-12-08 17:29:19
My tube of Naked Lip Ink arrived yesterday. I put it on and layered
some Burt's Beeswax lip balm over it. That was 8 last night. I ate
dinner (steak and salad) drank probably 4 glasses of green peach tea
and canoodled with the hubby. When I got up at 7 this morning to
let out the howler we call Spike (yr old cocker who howls like a
freakin banshee on crack), I was surprised to see that I still had
some colour to my lips.
I definitely will exfoliate my lips before I use it next time. It
will cling to the tiniest little flake on your lips and make it
really dark. I figure some gentle exfoliator and a toothbrush
should do it. I'd love to have some more LipScuff from the Body
Shop but the only one in town closed it's doors 3 years ago to make
room for the Origins Shop. On one hand, I get my favourite skin
care in one spot but I really miss the goodies from the Body Shop.
Their Mama Toto line is just incredible and smells so yummy. I
could really use one of those Mama Toto cocoa butter sticks to
smooth around my incision on my back which is so itchy and dry right
now.
I was thinking that with the Lip Ink, I would layer one of Jessica
Simpson's lipglosses over it. That way when the gloss was gone
there would still be some colour there.
Just go for the full sized. I saw your pic in your profile a while back and I think the pink lipgloss would not be so great on you. It's a light pink frost and I mean *frost*.
love it and was wondering if it was worth getting the Birthday Bag
UD Lipstain final review
2007-12-08 06:55:27
It didn't last all day the way my covergirl outlast does. By the end
of work, the outside edges were still pretty dark, but I had lost the
inside of the lips. It was ok though, I just put some lipstick on
the center and the ink was working like a lip liner at that point.
The one advantage is that it is a stain, feels natural on your lips,
like your not wearing anything at all, and lipgloss goes over it
really well.Worth the price? I haven't decided yet, I don't know how
long a tube lasts. I am going to get one more in a lighter shade
though, just to see.
Re: Birthday Bag Kit
I love cupcake too!!!! the bag is very small, definitly evening, the
gloss is more peachy, coopery than pink in my opinion, but very nice,
I don't remember the blush, my daughter stole it. The brush is great,
though. It's one of the kits I got along the 2005 collection, and
godess. I was looking to get brushes at the time with my kits and I
love pinks.
I wanted to add something. . .
I'm going to try this tomorrow with the minerals, but I'm guessing that it will work better if you foil the colors on. I used the Pigments which are more pigmented and when I blended them together, it took the 'edge' off and left a pretty subtle look. I think if you apply the minerals dry it will be harder to blend them without blending away all the color. Am I making sense? Thanks, Lisa :)
Ah, thank you, Mich! I was an English major when I was back in
On several of the groups that I belong to, I have to play grammer
most of the men think I'm a raging beyotch because I take them to
task on a regular basis.
I posted to the delphi forum BE Addicts and to tell the truth, I
find them to be a bit on the snobby side. It seems unless you are
fawning all over them, you are pretty much nobody. That, and if you
don't have the big, sparkly signature line, well, you might as well
not exist. That's the joy of a group like this one. You're
accepted no matter what your experience with BE. It doesn't matter
if you haven't bought kit after kit after kit and aren't on Auto-
We can come here and talk about anything. We can vent if we really
Hey girls! I was at the mall the other day and while I was checking out at one of the stores, the girl cashing me out had her eye shadow applied in a unique sort of way. So . . tonight while I was waiting for my daughter to finish playing in the tub I decided to play around. I used MAC pigments, that's why there is soo much sparkle everywhere. It would have turned out better if I had used mineral eye shadows (it wouldn't look like I had pixy dust allover my eyes ;), but the pigment jars were closer. :)
It looked like she had a light purple allover her lid with a light green right in the middle over her pupil. This is what it turned out like . . .
MANDA - eye shadow primer ?
2007-12-04 10:06:34
4 little words . . URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION!!!
This is by far the best product out there to keep your eye shadows put. I have the oiliest eye lids around and no matter what I tried, my shadows always ended up in the crease after a few hours. At $14 a bottle, it's a little pricey in my opinion, but its well worth it! Just so you know, almost everyone likes it . . . on makeupalley.com's product reviews out of 134, 88% would rebuy this primer. You can purchase it at a few different online retailers. I got my first bottle off of ebay. It lasted me roughly 6 months. I just bought my second bottle at sephora.com. Here are links to a couple different places . . .
URBAN DECAY WEBSITE . . .
I can't get Sephora's website to pull up right now, but they have it to. www.sephora.com
Re: [naturallyflawless] QUESTION HERE..............
2007-12-04 08:33:00
Ha, Manda! I asked this same question about a month ago. I've always lost my shadow into the crease of my eyes...and I was loosing my liner too! Lisa and Jade turned me on to Urban Decay's Primer Potion. Awesome stuff! I bought it from urbandecay.com. It's like $12 for a little bottle (I bought two), but it lasts a long time. The first time I used it, when I showered after work, I had to post "OK, now how do I get the shadow to come OFF???" Eye makeup remover does the trick just fine. Give it a try if you can.
Hugs,
I am new to this group & a new fan of this product.
Sent a similar email to Lisa, stating I have spent hundreds of $ on lazer
treatments to rid my face (or at least reduce the apperence) of broken
capillaries (it DIDN'T work) (ps. I'm not that old, I shouldn't have broken
veins on my face, but they say it is from sun damage, from when I was a kid
& spent every day at the pool in the summer)ANY WAY Could not find a make
