And it's sort of funny! A few months ago, I posted about my continuing skin problems. Where after switching to philosophy, my happy little T-zone has gone into freak out mode, and now my, normally, dry cheeks were doing a combo of flaking and breaking out. My pores have never been larger (yes, they look HUGE to me!), I'm get black heads and all sorts of nasties. Even on my neck. So, I headed back to what I had used in the past before philosophy... Oil of Olay...(hey! worked for Mom for 50 yrs!). One month of that...no improvement. Switch to Neutrogena...6 weeks of that, no improvement. So, into the BE store I go. I had checked out MD Formulations on their website and was armed and ready to go. (I really hate boutiques where you get swarmed when you walk in the door!) So, hubby in tow, I'm pulling off what their website says I need....over comes helpful older saleslady. We discuss why I think I need the Problem Prone kit. She yells (it's a little store) to this
girl that we need a consult. Turns out Leslie (no, not Blogett) owns the store. (I didn't know BE had any independantly owned stores!). Now, this chickadee couldn't have been more than 25, 28 tops. Hehe. (Keep in mind there are 2 other older customers in the store and two extremely bored and confused hubbys, mine included!) Leslie looks at me and says "But you have gorgeous skin!" She starts to continue babbling and I laid my hand on her wrist and said "No. I have on Bare Minerals!" Well both older customers sat down in the two chairs by the makeup spread and said "we need the full makeover!" My hubby burst out laughing! So, I told her my problems, she asked a lot of insightful questions, and I hope, got me hooked up. So, now, here I sit all exfoliated, antioxidized, hydrated and eye creamed. ROFL. And here I wanted a simple routine! It sure was nice, though, to talk to someone that a) seemed to care b) listened to my concerns c) discussed options with me d)
knew what they were talking about and e) didn't try to sell me the most expensive thing in the store. It was more like...get this kit, that is your cheapest option, should last you 4-6 weeks and if that doesn't get it, we'll try something else, and when we get it right, THEN we'll talk about the full sized higher priced items. Ahhh refreshing. Oh, yea, and I came out with some Bark liner and Hope (in the pink family) glimmer.
Ah, and interesting tidbit....there is a line, whether it be BE, MD Formulations, or their spa line, that has edible body dust and lotions and even a...um...sexy little weekend kit full of lotions, oils and feathers!. Needless to say, that is where I pried hubby from when I left. Lisa...can you find out anything about these? Hehehe.
Hugs,
Donna
