Only once in my 235 awesome Ebay experiences have I ever gotten the
shaft from a seller. She's still selling on Ebay even after several
of us complained about her. If something has arrived broken or I've
been sent the wrong item, I contact the seller *FIRST*. Sellers
appreciate the fact that you contact them first and give them the
opportunity to correct an error.
Once I develop a relationship with a seller, I am a repeat buyer. I
buy a lot from awhummer and from a few of the quilting supply ladies

It's a total win-win situation!

JoDee - Her auction . . . .

2008-11-20 16:15:49

Hi JoDee! Welcome to our group!! Thank you so much for your help! I think at this point she is probably going to leave me a negative at all costs too. I try to avoid those like the plague. ;) It sucks when you get bad feedback that is completely unfair. Especially the one you received from someone who broke their item, then you refunded their money. =( People can be so mean sometimes. Thanks again! Lisa =)
JoDee Beckett <jodeeb@...

Personally at this point she is probably going to leave you a negative no matter what. If she is going to send or as she stated has sent them back to you I would decide if you are going to refund her money. If not then I would send her an e-mail regarding the policy you have and just sit tight. I have sold on ebay for years. I had three people who were like her and in fact left me negatives over stupid items. The first negative I received was after I refunded the cost of an item that was dropped after the lady opened the package and I should have never refunded her money. She wanted me to refund the cost of the item if she was to go out and replace which was twice was she paid for it.

BLISS - Her auction . . . .

2008-11-20 09:51:19

Hi Bliss! I know that if you look at my feedback it seems really silly to get so upset. But I really am the type of person that wants every single person I sell to to be pleased. Ya know? It's silly, but I just can't convince myself that you just can not please everyone. I go through this every few months or so where I run into two or three really mean people in one week and it just throws me out of my game, KWIM. Thanks so much Bliss! I really appreciate the positive encouragement!!! Lisa :)
Bliss & Henry <bliss_n_henry@...

You know, Lisa, you have over 4000 awesome feedback comments. I would
not worry about one idiot or two who don't know 1) how Ebay works, 2)
the size of a 1/4 tsp and 3) the ones who aren't smart enough to use
email to let you know what colours they want. Take it with a grain of
salt and think about all of the customers who absolutely *LOVE* your
customer service and the amount of work that you put into what it is
that you do for us.

DONNA - This is why I get soooo mad at new ebayers . . .

2008-11-19 10:26:04

Hi Donna! I can't believe she agreed to all of that, that's great! Maybe I'll try that. If she had paid by money order, I won't have to worry about a chargeback but unfortunately she used paypal. =( Thanks for sharing your experience. I appreciate it! Lisa :)
Donna Conner <angel91805@...

Oh, I got another one! I had something I sold on ebay and they wanted a refund and to return it. I agreed BUT I did not refund the shipping, the listing fee w/ ebay and the fee paypal charged me when she used her credit card. Oh, and she wanted me to refund her by money order...which I did, but I deducted the cost of the money order too! She actually agreed to it. And it was another one like Lisa's where she did not read the auction at all. I swear, some people are too stupid to live. ROFL!

Slinking back to corner...

Donna
Rebecca Gear <becky.gear@...

You may want to watch out about not refunding. I have read from other sellers that if someone paid with Paypal (credit card) they can do a charge back saying item was not as described. You would probably win on an appeal because it was just what you described and she admits to not reading the auction, but it can tie up your paypal account and if you don't win it will cost you another 10$ fee at paypal. I would look at the seller board this happens alot (do I refund, don't I).

If you are going to offer a refund. I would offer a partial refund (the purchase amount), no refund on shipping since she did not read the auction and you did ship what was in the auction. Not a perfect solution, just a suggestion.

She is at fault because she did not read the auction, you had it very well described about being samples. But the credit card companies will take the buyers side very frequently.

Hi Mich! I couldn't even figure out what she was talking about the expiration date, but now I see it. That's the thing.... there isn't any "fine" print in my auction. Everything is stated very clearly and the really important things are in BRIGHT RED! How can anyone miss it, even if they only read a small portion of the auction?

I've already blocked her ebay ID so she can't bid on anymore auctions. A part of me wants to just refund her money to get her to leave me alone (even though that costs me money b/c of the fees, shipping, etc) but then I think she will still probably leave negative feedback so then I'm SOL anyways. That's the only thing I don't want to come of this is the negative feedback. She can turn me in all day long. Does she really honestly think she is the first person to threaten that in all the time I've been on ebay? She's nuts! Oh well, thanks sooooo much for listening and for giving me your 2 cents. ;) I really truly appreciate everyone's support! Thanks, Lisa

OH, we DEFINITELY need the kickboxing!! or just plain boxing classes would help to! =)
Mich < bbabmontret@...

Wow, Lisa.
I'm sorry your day started off so badly. :0(
I took a look at the auction you had posted and I saw
nothing wrong with it.
I had to go over it again to see where she found the
expiration date on the jar... she looked mighty hard
for an "error".
Being totally anal, I counted how many times you
mentioned "sample". You stated it 7 times.. also
mentioning that those weren't the jars she'd receive
AND the jars the samples did come in were the size of
a quarter. As a former BE sales person she should know
that BE doesn't come in that size of a container.
I didn't see the small print she was talking about..
you say the sample size on each and every product.
Seems like spring is starting to bring out the ugly in
a lot of people for some reason. :0(
One thought I had, is if she sold BE for so long
wouldn't she realize that there's not a chance she's
going to get 9!! full size products for $24.00?
I say, if you can afford it, to refund her money and
make a note of her name and email address. That way if
she tries to bid again you can nip it right away.
Anyway, I read your feedback when I placed my first
bid and I felt safe attempting to win the auction.
I think you really won me/my wallet over (LOL) when
you sent the follow up letter with the directions and
a very polite and friendly introduction. I was REALLY
impressed with that. :0)
Hope you're workout helped you.. I know it does
wonders for me when I'm stressing. Maybe we should
both try kickboxing! :0) LOL.
Have a great day =0)
Mich

Re: [naturallyflawless] REBECCA - Her auction . . . .

2008-11-19 01:02:56

It may not be fair (ebay's feedback system can be really unfair), but your best bet is to offer a partial refund upon receipt of the package. Explain in the email, that you will refund the purchase price but that you will not be refunding the shipping since the auction delivered exactly what was promised in the description.

Here is a link to the seller central forum at ebay (great place to read, if you do ask a question expect to get at least one nasty reply from a member)

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/forum.jspa?forumID=143

You may be able to get your fees back from ebay, I looked this up in the help and you fit the buyer returning item, you provided refund:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/account/credits.html

This is a more specific instructions on getting your fees back after refunding (from the board I searched on fee refunding):
http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=410456578

Hope this helps (I am a small time seller, lots of buying but I read and research alot so I learn the pitfalls)

Thank you Rebecca! I didn't think you could remove them without the other person agreeing but it never hurts to hope, LOL. Thank you again for your help! =) Lisa
Rebecca Gear < becky.gear@...

Look at the sellers board on ebay, they know all the rules and from what I had read you can't get the feedback taken off. There are alot of unfair negs (non-paying bidders are a great example). Ebay does not take those off, so if she does neg you you are propablbly stuck with it (unless she agrees to remove it as well). She is not a high feedback person, so she can take a neg on that and start again on a different identity without too much trouble.

Sorry it really does bite, that a non-auction reading numptie can do that too you (any experienced ebayer knows you read the item description).

Rebecca

On 4/27/05, Lisa Moore <lexismommy23@...

Hi Manda! LMBO, you are right there is no 'fine print'. Everything is bold, big letters and some are even bright red! Can you really fight to get a negative taken off without the person who left it agreeing to do so? Thanks! Lisa =)
purple_dragon03 <purple_dragon03@...

lisa... she cannot put any neg about you.. you can fight it thru ebay and they will reverse it.. it obviously states sample size!! how sad.. she is a dimwit... what does she mean she doesnt read the fine print... it isnt fine print... it is bold!! nope you can win this one... i forget the name but there is a place to dispute it with her thru ebay.. its her mistake not yours.. ebay says before you press submit.. READ THE FINE PRINT!!! good luck and have a great day. manda
Lisa Moore <lexismommy23@...

This is the exact auction she bought. Not the one with her ebay ID on it, but the exact same one. . . .

Email and Websites Impersonating eBay [INLINE]
[INLINE]
[INLINE]

Be sure you are on an eBay page

Before signing in, please check the Web address in your browser. If you click on a link in an email, verify that the Web address in your browser is the same as the address shown in the email. The Web address of eBay sign-in pages begins with http://signin.ebay.com/. Never type your eBay User ID and password into a Web page that doesn't have 'ebay.com" immediately before the first forward slash (/).

Some members have reported attempts to gain access to sensitive information through email requests that appear that they were sent from eBay. These requests often include links to Web pages that will request that you sign in and submit information. At eBay, we identify these as 'spoofed' email or Web sites. If you are concerned about receiving email of this nature, please review eBay's suggestions to minimize unwanted email.

eBay will never ask you to provide sign-in passwords, credit card numbers, or other sensitive information through email. If we request information from you, we will always direct you back to the eBay site. With very few exceptions, you can submit the requested information through your "My eBay" page. If you have received email requesting that you sign in or provide personal information that you suspect was not sent by eBay, please refer to the following information.

Take caution with email that includes attachments or links

eBay will not send you email that includes attachments and you will not be required to enter information on a page that cannot be accessed from the eBay site. If you receive a message that appears to have been sent from eBay that includes an attachment, do not open it.

When possible, you should avoid clicking links. Instead of clicking the link, you should copy the address and paste it into the Address/Location area of your web browser. While eBay may send email that contains links, the links are provided for convenience only. You will not be required to submit sensitive information if a direct link is provided to an eBay page.

Beware of fake Web sites pretending to be eBay

Only enter your eBay password on pages where the Web address (URL) begins with http://signin.ebay.com/. Even if the Web address contains the word "eBay", it may not be an eBay Web page.

These fake Web sites (also called "spoof" Web sites) try to imitate eBay in order to obtain your eBay password and access to your account.

Before signing in, please check the Web address in your browser. The Web address of all genuine eBay sign-in pages will begin with http://signin.ebay.com/. Never type your eBay User ID and password on a page that doesn't have "ebay.com" immediately before the first forward slash (/).

International eBay Web sites will have slightly different sign-in addresses. They will include the letters that designate the site the address is associated with (for example, http://signin.ebay.fr for France, http://signin.ebay.de for Germany, etc.), followed by a forward slash (/). A complete list of sign-in pages for International eBay Web sites is given below:
Site Sign-In/Login URL
Australia http://signin.ebay.au/...
Austria, Germany, Switzerland http://signin.ebay.de/...
Belgium http://signin.benl.ebay.be/...
http://signin.befr.ebay.be/...
Canada http://signin.ebay.ca/...
France http://signin.ebay.fr/...
Ireland, Sweden, United Kingdom http://signin.ebay.co.uk/...
Italy http://signin.ebay.it/...
Netherlands http://signin.ebay.nl/...
New Zealand, Singapore http://signin.ebay.com/...
Spain http://signin.es.ebay.com/...
Taiwan http://signin.tw.ebay.com/...
https://scgi.tw.ebay.com/...

If the address includes additional characters prior to the forward slash such as "@," dashes, etc., it is not an eBay page.

Report Suspicious Email to eBay

To report email requesting account information that you suspect was not sent by eBay send us the email send us the emailwith the complete message text and full header or forward the entire message to spoof@... using the forward function of your email program. When forwarding the message, do not change the subject line, send additional text, or forward the message as an attachment. Forwarding the message in this manner will allow us to review the message headers and any other information that may be attached to the email.

The spoof@... email address is reserved for handling reports of attempts to impersonate eBay. In order to investigate these reports in a timely manner, we can only accept forwarded messages at this address.

If you have already submitted information after receiving an email request and you suspect that your eBay account may have been tampered with, please refer to the following page for information on Securing Your Account and review the steps on the Protecting Your Identity page.
